File Front archiving in progress

I read this very late, but when I was younger I have many memories of downloading units and mods for total annihilation from filefront. You guys are awesome for keeping the classics alive, cheers, and I think you're gonna get a donation from me soon =D.

''We don’t expect these sites to be popular or demanding on our servers, but I couldn’t sit and idly watch tens of thousands of mods for games I grew up with be lost to the internet forever. Games like Soldier of Fortune, Battlefield 1942, Unreal Tournament 2004, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War that are long since past their prime, but are games I grew up playing and downloading mods from File Front for back in the day. I am extremely pleased to be able to archive these mods on the Nexus to keep them safe for the foreseeable the future.''

The passion i would love developers would actually have <3

I know others have said it, but it can't be said enough THANK YOU. We may not be playing that game today, but all good games we will come back too, and when we do, it is nice to be able to get some good mods/files that might have been lost.

Filefront hosted many, many mods for Rome: Total War and later Medieval 2: Total War back in the day. Those games, and the mods for them that would be lost if FF/GF weren't archived, not only introduced me to modding but to PC gaming in general, and I can guarantee I would not be on the Nexus today without the Total War mod community. Filefront was an instrumental part of my youth, and I'm thrilled to see that Nexusmods will be saving its files from oblivion.

Thank you.

I am so glad I found this site. I downloaded hundreds of mods from FileFront over the years. I got rid of most of them as time went on. mainly because I could not find time to play the games they were made for. (I was focusing way too much of my gaming time to Star Trek Online). Now that I've reclaimed my interest in my older games (Elite Force, Bridge Commander, etc.) I felt I wanted to experiment with these mods again.

I was just thinking that. I never used to mod much, but the one game I had a lot of fun doing that in back in the day was KOTOR. Would be a shame for those mods to be lost/scrambled about the internet.
