FNV Frequently Crashes

Trying playing without Willow for awhile and see if it improves. That's what finally fixed my game after 2 months of fiddling with everything I could think of. And I mean EVERYTHING.

ClassicPack.esm

CaravanPack.esm

MercenaryPack.esm

TribalPack.esm

I would suggest purchasing a legal copy of the game and starting over.

EDIT by LHammonds: Bethesda supports customers with more than one pre-order pack and as such, we will NOT be throwing accusations here.

Ok so i started a new game, everything seemed to be perfect, smooth, great looking all mods working fine, and then when i left goodsprings i made my way towards NCRCF and as soon as i got close to it it crashed, but that was like 1 hour into the game so, its going a lot better then before :)

are u using 4gb for fallout new vegas or for nvse?

Im using nvse and i couldn't figure out how to run mods using the 4GBNV, so i just dont use it.

I would suggest purchasing a legal copy of the game and starting over.

Dont want to start a troll war here, but my copy is as legal as an 18 year old, same as all my DLC, i had to work hard to get the money to pay for it as well, so im offended you would suggest that. =\

Try not to be offended, look back through this forum at the locked topics and I think you'll understand where that comes from (I actually bought two pre-order packs but don't bother loading them anymore with all the cool mods out there) . As to the game problems I'll refer you to a thread in the Beth forum because my fingers are too tired to type all that stuff in now - http://forums.bethsoft.com/index.php?/topic/1215306-possible-solutions-to-crashhangs-since-14/ - hope this helps you.

  • 2 weeks later...

Why does anybody think this is any different than when DM came out, or HH came out and now we have OWB. Maybe they changed the file structure again without telling anyone. My game worked fine until I got to Sorrows camp and went into White Bird's Cave. And then ... and then ... and then "Along came Johhnny." Well, except for the occasional crash; Now, crash every couple of minutes. Another option that was suggested is to make a merged patch with FNVEdit. No, I didn't buy OWB yet: Steam announced (a few days ago) that FNV and all DLC's were 2/3 off -- another mistake -- because only FNV was on sale. Also, W7 64b had a number of updates.

Oh Gee, we fogot to test it on *^&, and ^($ and @$!, etc. Maybe they think they can last by waiting to update until after the last DLC, which has been postponed for an unannounced period.

I think patches are supposed to help the game, not make it worse.

Could the offender be the new version of Direct X in conjuntion with Operating system W7, Steam: yes, we're stuck with Microsoft, why add the extra complication of Steam, and Obsidian doesn't even know how to keep with the flow of Bethesda-style modable games, which reminds me: The best mod out there is skip DM and collect all the stuff -- it looks like this DLC was led by the guy who programmed the BoS Archive Quest and then it was altered in a patch so that it could be completed without spending an extra hundred hours trying to luckily find 3 viruses in a minute. Yes, I want to run my 200+ mods or ?

Venting is good for the sole [sic]. :wallbash:

only use one of the CRHD esp's, 302 or 303, this wont be causing your problems but its a start. Best bet would be a clean install to a new directory, not program files, and install the mods your using and try lower the number, its easy to forget to clena up your game directory and just flood it with a ton of mods. I had a few that were outdated and hadn't been updated in nearly 6 months, these things cause problems. And even without esp's and esms to activate any old mods, textures, meshes etc left behind by them can still affect the game and cause problems.
