New Vegas Deathmatch

I am currently working on a mod that is similar to mutiplayer type gaming. But it is not multiplayer. Well basically you will have to option to fight in matches against AI opponents of set difficulty. Just like in other first person shooter games you will be able to buy upgradeable weapons and armor.

But here is the thing. You will start out with a blank slate. No more perks or level 35 desert ranger with antimaterial rifle. You will have to buy and upgrade the weapons and armor you want by gaining caps from killing others in matches.(And no your caps will not come with you.) I'm doing this because if I didn't than Mr.Level 35 with 100,000 caps will just buy everything and miss the point of the mod.

I plan to include a sort of zombies mode.(I mean who doesn't love zombies there is a whole NV mod for it.)

And yes there will be a mystery box.

More info soon.

P.S:This may seem a little bit of a big project but if you saw how I plan to make it work you would wonder why someone hasn't done it already.

So it's a deathmatch against people and zombies and if you win you get to upgrade your gear? I like the idea: real simple. So your saying that to fight in this deathmatch you must use pre-set weapons with a pre-set character and fight pre-set enemies. I'd personally like it more if you could use your existing character and use your own weapons, and you victory prize is free repairs and equipment and stuff.

With the enemies, there should be lots of variants, say weak little convicts and strong, big, chunky viper leaders or something. Or just random people all called 'contestant' and are random levels and are good at random skills.

Will it be a free-for-all or a team deathmath? A FFA would be awesome.

Hope you end up releasing it. It will be a good mod. :)

Well I guess I could have the option to start with a clean slate and the option to keep your gear.

There will be different match options. Free for All, Team Deathmatch, Objective,

The weapons and armor are not really presets you will be able to mix and match and use whatever weapon and armor you want

as long as you have the caps.

One feature I think I might do is something akin to killstreaks. I mean there are already mods for vertibird and artillery strikes why not implement them.

I mean I'm not reinventing the wheel here things like grenade and knife hotkey have been done. Project Nevada has already achieved dynamic crosshair.

One feature that would be cool but would be difficult to implement would be upgradable team members. Leveling Companions has already been done before but

implementing something like that would require maybe someone with more companion experience than me.

I'm not asking for help here but if you have an idea, or you would like to help than your welcome to.

I am currently working on the weapon and armor system. Map making, Spawn system, NPC creation, game types, and maps come after.

I actually have a very similar idea to throw into this a while ago, but I'm leaving for college soon and idk if I can really be of help. You can definitely use any of the information I'm about to give you as freely as you wish.

My idea had the same concept as yours... but without the straight up game modes...

First off, a quest would keep track of your score...

In shack in the middle of nowhere, a programmer and a mechanical engineer have discovered how to re-work prewar virtual reality pods and created personal gaming. You and several other contenders (with different fighting styles) will be pitted against each other for glory, prizes, and experience.

When you step into the virtual reality pod, you can meet the gamers in a lobby, and talk to the computer master program about which game mode you intend to play. Keep in mind, the NPC's are always the same, as they are real people (so this means less worrying about generic editing and creating MANY different faces and such, as these npc's can be reused)...

Game modes:

Team Deathmatch

Free for All

Objective based - King of the Hill definitely... (use a trigger and a script that times it)

Scenario - (Can be anything like, escape the haunted house, pre-war police attempting to stop a bank robbery, and so on...)

Maps:

Definitely opens up doors to weird game-play while being pretty lore friendly. You may even become friends with the competitors or make a serious nemesis. You also have a less chance of conflicting with other mods, as you would be using barely any space, anywhere in the wasteland... because almost all of your worldspaces will be custom

What do you think?
