Trouble with making a new weapon - CTD

I've used nifscope and successfully created the model for my gun. It looks fine in game and the static works perfectly. However, when I equip the weapon, its CTDs 80% of the time, and when it allows me to equip the weapon, it is way too big. Any suggestions? I don't understand why I can equip it sometimes and not others when I'm doing the same thing.

ah yes, this old problem, I have this a lot when I work with nifskope. whenever I try to manually adjust a weapon or armor or projectile. and I'm not just changing a few variables. it does this to me.

not sure why its not happening 100% of the time though. that's odd.

 

the fact that it fails when you equip it, but works fine as a static is pretty suggestive of where you might have gone wrong, take a look at the animations particularly.

as far as its size goes, is that when its a static too?

if so, then just changing the overall scale of the gun will do the job fine, otherwise its got me beat.

Thanks. I think I got it figured out finally. NEW question now.

 

Any idea why GECK likes to crash when I try to add the nif to the static or model of the weapon?
