marharth
You can't block when you have a spell and a sword, too. That means I can't block with my sword alone until I take off the spell from my hand.Where is that info from? That's kinda stupid, even through I will probably be using daggers and bows a lot. ub3rman123
It might be like Oblivion's block system, where you have to use the weapon to block, which doesn't protect you nearly as much.
NAPALM13092
I'm cool with there being no blocking with dual wielding or two-handed weapons because it makes shields a much more lucrative load out choice and adds a lot more tactical decision making just like the change they made to magic. In Oblivion you could wield swords, spells, torches, and block all at the same time this kinda makes you sit down and think about a situation before you run in and start mashing the mouse buttons without negative repercussions. Also we have yet to see the perks so there might be something like a well timed strike can parry an opponent. Not a full blown block but a little bit of damage mitigation for non-shield users. worm82075
I think it's a control scheme issue more than anything else. While wielding a two-handed weapon the right trigger attacks and the left trigger blocks. While wielding a single one-handed weapon one trigger(corresponding to the hand your wielding in) attacks and the opposite trigger blocks. While dual wielding though the devs had to make a choice between blocking or dual attacking. Not being able to dual attack kinda defeats the purpose of dual wielding so they decided to go with that. It wouldn't be an issue if we weren't being limited to the number of buttons on a controller.
