Jokkocze
So I've just started over in New Vegas again. Played for about 14 hours so far and I've taken it really slowly, so that I dont miss anything that I've missed before. However, there's this nasty little thing that I've never had before. Pretty much every time I use fasttravel, I encounter a group of Caesar's Legion people, usually a total of 5, of which 4 are assassins. I've encountered them in previous playthroughs, but not like this. As an example, something I had this morning. I fast-traveled from my cozy little vault that I've built for myself in using the GECK. (I've been using this since my second playthrough, it's just a building and a fast-travel-mark) to Novac. I had decided that it was time for me to do the REPCONN mission. I start walking towards it and I encounter a group. "You've been marked for elimination, yada yada yada" and they attack me. So I kill them. Loot all their precious loot, notices that it's a lot of weight and so I go back to my home to empty the stuff. After that, I go back for another try, but it's the same thing again.I repeat the killing, looting and emptying of the inventory, followed by a third attempt with exactly the same result. (Please note that the encounters werent in the same locations) So I figure that something's up with the novac fast travel, and I try the Gibson junkyard instead, but it's the same thing."Hey, if I go to Helios One, I'm sure they wont show up, it being a NCR outpost and all", so I go there. But once again with the same result. I loot them again and pop over to goodspring, guessing that my vault might've bugged. In goodspring, I get another patrol. I kill them (a lot of killing) and my rep with caesars fall down to hated. I continue to jump around in the world and I keep getting the damn patrols, even at McCarran. I load a game where I hadn't completed the last quest I'd done (the Helios One-quest) and I get less of them, but still a lot. Is it suppose to be like this? How can I make it stop? I just want to wander the wasteland, killing bandits and mutants in peace :( (Game is unmodded, except for my vault. Problem presists when I inactivated that, so it's something else.) FritzTCoyote
Wow. You must have Really Annoyed the legion. I have noticed that same 'infamy-loop' problem, killing the assassin team increases your infamy, thus gaining you more assassins to kill. Just think of them as Loot Dispensers. Maybe get a pack Brahmin (there's a mod out there somewhere) to help haul the gear. Eventually you will max out on infamy, and maybe they will stop sending them? My best moment with one of those teams was when I had sneaked to a high point at the Quarry, getting ready to introduce the Deathclaw family to .50 Match Loads.... an Assassin team trotted into the Quarry, they may have been looking for me. But they found something even worse. I sat back and watched the (very brief) show.
Jokkocze
I'd love to think of them as loot dispensers, but I'm running out of AP ammo and I cant really find anywhere to buy more. Without that, they take 20-30 shots each to kill :( Edit: Can't find anything about anyone having the same problem.. I also looked the whole event up and discovered that it's caused by a quest with the name "Caesar's Foe". However, this is only suppose to spawn them once every three days, not every time you use fast travel. So basically, something's messed up and I guess I'll have to do something about it. GECK, here I come! Edited August 10, 2011 by Jokkocze
BGatot
Something's definitely wrong if they appeared every time you fast travel. My character's currently have a pretty poor reputation (pretty much maxed out negative) with Caesar's boys, since I killed their big boss/deity, and I didn't encounter them every time I fast traveled. They seem to have normal span time (about three days), they just drop nicer guns this time around. Never did saw centurions again, though, funny how they seem to only appear to low-level characters. Are you sure you want the situation fixed? Seems like a way to get rich quick to me! :) Edited August 11, 2011 by BGatot
o12no1
Lol, I am having the same problem. It started when I went to install the chip at the the fort. When I tried to leave and he asked me for my weapons the game went into a loop of me trying to exit and him asking for the weapons. Nothing I done would correct it loading previous saves didn't help, each time I came to the door the same thing happened so I killed all the legion in there but of course outside they all attacked me. Yes they are a git to kill and do keep turning up at the worst times but it is a great way to make money. :) All I need now is to find a way to make love to the female ED E robot. :)
kieranbhoy
If you don't mind cheating you could use a God Mod or console commands to reset reputation with them to nutreul.
luceid
Sorry for resurrecting that thread, but:My most hilarious scene while playing FONV includes the Legion's assassins. I'm at the Helios ONE tower and didn't make it time. So I had to wait several hours. And there, on top of the tower, they attacked me!Imagine how great these guys must be. They enter this NCR-guarded, fenced area, just to attack me :psyduck:
ModelV
Yes they seem to be notorious for hunting you down where ever you might be. I remember one time I woke up in my underground hideout and got jumped by Legion assassins. Made a horrible mess everywhere.
