I'd hope, I still crash randomly in a lot of their games.

If he said more FPS and crashes that wouldn't make sense.
Wesel
I wouldn't be so concerned about the graphics if I were you - the creation engine, i guess you guys have heard about it, will totally rock our socks off! And yeah, the footage we've seen so far was all on the Xbox and Pitchford said it will look much more awesome on the PC Don't worry about the port either - just trust in Bethesda
WeaselSlapper
One thing that concerns me with it being an XBox port is not the graphics, but the controls and interface. Normally with a console port (Morrowind wasn't Oblivion was) you get less information in the interface due to lack of resolution on TVs and controls designed for a controller tend to feel clunky with a mouse and keyboard or don't fully leverage the mouse and keyboard (Borderlands was really bad for this when it first came out, but some patching made it better but never really felt like a PC game). I just hope that they don't let it feel like a console port even if it is. Also if you listen to some of the commentary in the gameplay videos you can clearly hear the narrator saying "Press the left trigger for left hand and right trigger for the right hand." This does make me think that the controls will not be optimized for a mouse and keyboard, but rather an XBox controller, and I really hope that's not the case. jedimembrain
From everything Ive seen it looks like they did three key things to the graphics from Fallout3 to Skyrim .. Draw Distance "They made more LOD models and worked hard to optimize them", Physics Animations "They are using a whole new Havok physics engine that looks much smoother but I will note that I still see characters sliding a bit in the demos when hit", and finally Shadows! "This is the biggest change to the engine and the one thing its been lacking since the famous Oblivion shadow demo that was released before they really knew what the 360 hardware could do" .. all of this in mind and knowing it will still be on the 360 and much better optimized than previous titles I would say its safe to say if you could run oblivion or fallout 3 then you can run Skyrim .. Just don't expect anything to mind blowing .. Its still an open world game and its not running on Cryengine DX11 or anything crazy :P I personally just upgrading to a GTX550 ti and I'm ready to crank up a few effects ^__^
roninmedia
All in all, it depends on the improvements and stability made in the new game engine. On my desktop with a stock q8300 and 1 GB 5770, the fallout 3 at maximum settings performed smoother than oblivion at max settings. However, I both games didn't reach their potential based on my lower clock speeds. I'm hopefully that Skyrim will utilize all 4 cores, however I am planning a upgrade to a Sandy Bridge in the near future that has much better clock speeds anyway. Lowk
The Sandy Bridges are totally worth it. I only have an i5 2500, and it just yawns at pretty much whatever I throw at it, gaming-wise.
