canopyfive
Is there a robert compatible mod out there that takes the pubes off the males and females?
Rabbit1251
For Robert's Male I have been using All Male Body. I'm using the shaved HGEC for my females so I cannot help you with that. Sorry. Edit: Come to think of it the AMB might be seperate from Robert's. Nevermind. Rabbit
wetblanket
Slof's Better Bodies has hairless Elven races. There are also PSD resource files if you want to make the other races hairless (open it, turn off the layers you don't want and save as .dds). canopyfive
Wow. I am one blind renob. Thanks Wetblanket! 'Nother question. So i have the resource files, i have it all pulled apart and cleaned up and how i want it...now how do i save it as a .dds? I'm doing this in gimp because i don't have photoshop. Also, shouldn't this be in meshes? Or is that just the build? I'll keep tinkering...if you have any further info though, it would be appreciated. wetblanket
I use Paint.Net and so am not sure whether the Gimp needs a .dds export plugin or not. I suspect (assuming the plugin is installed) you either 'save as' and select .dds as the file-type or export as .dds. Leave the meshes alone and name your new texture files identical to the originals ('footmale.dds' and 'footfemale.dds') in 'Oblivion\Data\Textures\characters\<race folder>\<sex folder>'. Ignore files suffixed with '_n' (eg. 'footmale_n.dds') at this stage. Make sure you back up the originals before overwriting. Now those '_n' suffixed files are normal maps - basically they make the meshes look more detailed. You may need to edit these as well but see how the new textures look in-game first. The most straight-forward way would be to copy Slof's hairless body normal maps to the hairy body folders but you would probably lose some muscle definition (generally hairy body = muscular body). Have fun :)

canopyfive
You guys ROCK! Thanks much Hickory and Wetblanket. Going to try it out right now!
canopyfive
Alright...Got the plug-in, altered my male and female skins. There's no hair on the male...well there's no color to it, but there's still the texture of it. And then on the female, the same process didn't work. So do i need to do something with the meshes as well? Slof's resources have female bodies and female high rez, same for the male. I'm going to keep tinkering, and i really appreciate the help a lot, but if you know what the problem is, feel free to bash me over the head with it. thanks! wetblanket
...well there's no color to it, but there's still the texture of it... That's the normal maps at work. Try copying say 'Oblivion\Data\Textures\characters\highelf\female\footfemale_n.dds' to 'Oblivion\Data\Textures\characters\imperial\female\' overwriting the existing file. As I said in my first post, you may lose some muscle definition but it is the easy way out. Otherwise you will have to edit the normal maps directly. canopyfive
So the _n file is the map, and the non_n is the coloration?
