File failed to validate and must be reaquired

Hey everyone.

I'm having a problem. Every time i try to launch FNV it crashes, i then have to revalidate the files to get it to run. It runs for about 5 mins then freezes my entire system and requires a full reboot.

The file which doesn't validate is c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\InstallScript.vdf

I've tried reinstalling from steam and from the CD but neither work, must be an error in the update maybe??

 

My system specs: Windows 7, 2 Gb RAM, Radeon 6800XT graphics card, Intel core 2 duo 2.4 GHz.

 

Anyone got any ideas?

You got UAC issues causing your game to fail

move your install of steam outside of the cursed UAC directories

OR, you could just edit the folder permissions and not have to move anything.
