I don't walk under ladders, that's a superstition that's traditionally bad luck in the UK, I don't know about other countries.

Same. Or scaffold when it's in use. Not motivated out of fear of supernatural repercussions, but because, if you think about it, it's just stupid to walk under a ladder.

 

I thought that is where that one started, as many superstitions are rooted in some sort of practical or logical reasoning, but actually this is another of the Christian superstitions, something about violating the holy trinity. I was what? you're kidding?
