Carrying over mods

Hey guys, well I made the mistake about 2 years ago of buying my oblivion from direct2drive, which as any experienced mod users will know, encrypts there games as an anti pirating precaution (plus because their jerks) and thus i cannot add OBSE which i sorely need for the amazing deadly reflex combat revamp, as i am utterly sick of oblivion combat, plus i was going to modify akatoshs drgaon mount into some awesome dragony enemies. I may just wait for skyrim (well have a hella time moddin that) but I would liek to repurchase through my steam account (which is OBSE compatible) but I do not want to reinstall the 18 freaking gigs of mods i have in my data folder. Is there any way to just uninstall the vanilla files and so doing save my mods in their folder structure? then i could simply recopy thme into the non encrypted oblivion, as far as i know oblivion unisntalls the entire data folder, not just vanilla files.

Buy the steam version, get it all installed, and updated, then, copy over your data folder, reinstall your utilities, and you should be golden. Once you have it working, you can nuke the D2D installation. (uninstall it..... don't just delete it.)
