magickman12
I've posted this on Bethesda's forums but haven't received an answer even though others have recently encountered the same problem. Everytime I click on an AI package, whether attached to an NPC or just in the pull down menu, the CS crashes. It doesn't matter which mod I am working on, it even does it when I start a brand new mod with just Oblivion checked at startup. It happens whether I am running the CS with OBSE and when it is running without it.This has completely stalled my latest mod, something I've been working on for 6 months and I'm out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.
Hickory
Your first step when met with CS oddities should always be to delete the ConstructionSet.ini from \Documents\My Games\Oblivion\, then restart the CS.
magickman12
I wish it would have, but it didn't work. Thanks though.I did get a hint from Beth forums. Excerpt from the site: "December 20, 2008: Several Vista users have reported bugs regarding the GECK crashing when clicking on items in the object palette list and/or when accessing/editing AI packages. A suggested workaround solution is to disable tablet functionality in Vista when using the GECK. Navigate to "Control Panel" -> "Programs" -> "Programs and Features" -> "Turn Windows features on or off". This last link is found in the left-side pane of the "Programs and Features" window. When the "Windows Features" dialog box appears, unselect "Tablet PC Optional Components", click "OK", and restart Vista. " I guess I'll try this when I can. Has anyone else experienced this problem? hawke1133
I had a similar problem, but with the "Quest Topics". (I am running Windows 7 Pro 64bit.) I tried 5 different approaches in both the security options and re-installing CS (and misc. programs) and nothing worked. I did have to install the CSExtender ( http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36230 ) to get my problem solved.
