Ghoulz
Yeah, that's what it keeps saying on file pages, but I am logged in :psyduck:

Ghoulz
I don't think that's much of a factor. Everything was fine until TESNexus was updated. The comment can be made if on the second page or later in the comment section, so im unable to do a thing if there's one page still.
CommanderCrazy
If you want to report a bug like that, be sure to include browser, browser version, OS (maybe less important, but include anyway) and site.
grannywils
I have IE9 on Windows 7. I have had the above problem on and off since day one. But not just since the changeover. Even after I log in a second time (since I am not being shown as logged in over on the TES Nexus site while I am logged in on the Nexus Forums), and am then showing as logged in on TES Nexus, it will still occasionally give me that message. As I do not post comments very often, this is not a major problem for me. However, it is sometimes annoying when I am attempting to look for and/or download a mod, and it is telling me that I must be logged on, etc. I usually just try again seven or eight times or just give up and try again another day. However if there is something that I am doing wrong, please let me know. Thanks.
Thandal
@grannywils; Hey there! Been a while since we talked... Instead of trying seven-or-eight times in a row, CLOSE the window and re-open it. I've found that my log-in actually gets recorded on the server side the first time, but the "I know you, you're a member here" cookie on my client isn't being read until I close my browser and restart it. Dark0ne
This seems to be an issue with IE users. Basically it's because IE is caching the content of the "not logged in" page. If you browse the site without being logged in and try to download something, or comment on something, the site caches the "not logged in" response so when you log in and come back your browser shows you the "not logged in" cached page, rather than showing you actual content. It's a by-product of using a really crappy browser I'm afraid! The solution? First thing you do on the site: LOGIN!
Thandal
Well, in my case, (ands I suspect, in GWils') I am logged-in. And the cookie is read just fine, and I can post to the forums, and everything. Then I might pop over to a files page (link in a post, or whatever) and THAT'S when the site thinks we aren't logged-in. Even if I was jsut on that same games files page during my last Nexus session. So I log-in, and the site returns the "log-in failure" message. At that point I've learned to close that session and re-open it, and magically I'm recognized. No need for ANOTHER log-in. And this doesn't happen consistently. Will have no issues for days-and-days, then there'll be a hiccough. Minor, and easily fixed, and NOT a result of a crappy browser. Same thing under FF or IE, depending on which I happened to have going at the time...
grannywils
Thanks, Thandal. What you said!!! I don't have a crappy browser, Dark0ne; but thank you for sharing..... I will make sure that I try your suggestion next time, Thandal. I cannot remember for sure, but I think I have tried it before. i.e. logging off and then back on. But cannot be positive, so will try it and let you know. I appreciate your help. PS. I always login when I come on the site, by the way

I just close the window, then re-start my browser session. Since I have most of the main Nexus pages bookmarked (in both browsers) it's just a couple of clicks to get back to where I was, only this time I'm recognized.
