ctserge
I have OBSE v20, and it used to work well with all my mods. I haven't played oblivion in a couple months and had to recover my oblivion data from virtual storage. Now when I load obse, my main menu is just the picture (with no menu buttons). I am using DARNified UI but I don't think Darn is the problem, because it loads just fine without OBSE. In fact, everything except obse-dependent mods work fine if I don't load obse. I have tried reinstalling OBSE, reinstalling DARNified UI, disabling UAC (I have Win 7), defragmented/restarted my computer, made sure OBSE had administrator privileges, rebuilt my bash patch, and ran archive redirection. I am running a lot of mods, but oblivion used to work 100% with OBSE and all of my mods. I tried reverting to an older back-up of my oblivion mod list (thereby reducing mods installed). Still no luck. I'm using a NON-STEAM version of Oblivion GOTY edition with SI and KotN installed. Would really appreciate the help. EDIT:- I never uninstalled Oblivion or any mods from my computer. They were just sitting for a period of 3-4 months. Before the break, everything was working perfectly fine. So, I don't know how I can mess something up by just allowing it to sit there.- I did not do a manual install of the mods. I made OMOD's of ALL mods that do not have an .exe installer.- The problem was NOT with OBSE, it was with OBGEv2. Update to OBGEv3 did NOT fix the problem. My dx runtime library is up to date, and I uninstalled previous versions of obge before running Oblivion. Still troubleshooting, any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. FINAL EDIT:- It seems that I forced AA in my oblivion.ini 3-4 months ago... iMultiSample was set to 2. I set it to 0 and everything works fine now. Thank you everyone! luxwing0go
Sounds really odd. Running OBSE 20 on Windows 7 with no problems. There are a few things we can try here.1. Are you launching Oblivion with the OBSE .exe? Don't use the original Oblivion execution.2. Use a program like BOSS to get your mods organized. Something could overwrite the menu.3. Is Oblivion installed in programs or in your games folder? Sometimes installing into programs can cause OBSE not to function correctly.4. Don't disable UAC. Yes it's annoying, but it can frag up windows.5. Try uninstalling DUI and see if the menu looks correct. If it does, you've found the culprit. If not, try OBSE 19 and see if that works instead of 20. Also, sometimes when you have a completely new install of Oblivion and you just copy and paste a Data folder from an older install into it some files may not work correctly. This can either be due to the computer using the file paths saved from the previous install and being unable to find the folders or some files not being installed correctly. Also, are you using the DUI OMOD for install? Doing the manual install is tricky and I could personally never get it to work. Let me know how it goes. Thor.
He what do you knoww, someone has the exact same problem as me. its a very annoying problem, the only solution i have is to delete the ini file and load obse, then set the resolution as required, but be aware any other setting other then resolution will mess it up and the missing icon in intro will disappear. Maybe if you use a older version of obse like v19 and under might solve that issue, for i haven't had that problem in the past. Its worth a try. Edited September 1, 2011 by Thor. HeyYou
OBGE has been reported to be responsible for the No buttons problem. I think turning off forced AA in your video card controls will fix it.
ctserge
OBGE has been reported to be responsible for the No buttons problem. I think turning off forced AA in your video card controls will fix it. I don't have forced AA on my video card. OBGEv2.dll was at least part of the problem. Once I removed OBGEv2, everything worked fine again. Here's my OBGEv2 log:-----------------------------------------------Ingnoring message.Ingnoring message.Pre HookRESZ not supported.Depth buffer texture (INTZ) (1280,800) created OK.Depth buffer attached OK. 0Depth buffer : Lost device callback.Releasing the depth buffer surface.Releasing the depth buffer texture.Re-attaching depth buffer texture.RESZ not supported.Depth buffer texture (INTZ) (1280,800) created OK.Depth buffer attached OK. 0Depth buffer : Lost device callback.-------------------------------------------------------- /end log I'm going to try replacing v2 with the newer version. Hopefully that will solve this problem without having to figure out which of my installed mods need v2. I'll let you guys know in a bit if this works. The weird thing is that I've never had this problem before. Everything used to work fine together, OBGEv2 included. I never uninstalled Oblivion or any mods from my computer. They were just sitting for a period of 3-4 months. Before the break, everything was working perfectly fine. So, I don't know how I can mess something up by just allowing it to sit there. EDIT:- I updated obge and it did not resolve the problem (I read and followed the readme). ctserge
It seems that I forced AA in my oblivion.ini 3-4 months ago... iMultiSample was set to 2. I set it to 0 and everything works fine now. I am now using the latest version of OBGE alongside all 200 mods. Thanks a lot to everyone who contributed. Your help was GREATLY appreciated.
