Missing containers

I'm pretty sure this problem is being caused by Oscuros overhaul, I extracted everything right, and put everything in the right folder, used BOSS to sort load order, and every time I enter the game I get a big yellow sign saying "WTF I'M MISSING A MESH!" where all containers should be, like chests or barrels, sacks seem to work though.

I use a different overhaul mod and am not familiar with the specifics of OOO, but it sounds like you have diagnosed the problem and found its source. One of your mods is editing containers so that they point to meshes that you do not have or do not have in the right place. In console mode, click on some of the missing meshes and see if you get any names or reference IDs that point to the problem mod. With reference IDs, the first two characters of the number indicate position of the mod in the load order. Use Wrye Bash to determine which mod is in that position in your load order. Alternately, you can use RefSkope.

Here are a few options if OOO is the problem:

(1) Reinstall OOO.

(2) Carefully examine OOO and install missing parts, or move the parts that are installed wrong. You are looking for things in a mesh folder or that belong in a mesh folder. If you are a CS user, you could hunt down a specific item that renders as a missing mesh and examine its file path in the CS or NifSkope. You can also get a good idea of what is missing by examining the compressed downloaded file, although that gets trickier if things are tied up in a BSA or OMOD.

(3) The nuclear option. Deactivate and remove all components of OOO and don't look back.

Happy hunting!
