Do you think these items appear in Skyrim? Seeing as Welkynd stones only appears in Ayleid ruins, not sure if Ayleid ruins will be in Skyrim though. :O

I don't have a link on me right now, but I think Ayleid ruins will be in the game. Hopefully more varied and interesting than before. And with such ruins, I'd assume these stones would be in the game too...and perhaps some new ones!

I heard they would too but I didn't have a link to confirm it so I didn't post .. It could have just been a rumor but I am pretty sure it came out some where.

Hmm...that's a good question. They may come back, or a new variation may appear. They certainly were useful in Oblivion.

I hadn't heard anything about Ayleid ruins, but I know Dwemer ruins will probably be returning. Possibly even Daedric. If Ayleid ruins are thrown in the mix, they may be geared more towards Falmer this time.

I doubt it. I think they'll focus more on dwemer and a newer variation of ancientness (Skyrim/nord based) as that's what been known so far and I haven't heard a single piece of an ayleid presence. The ayleids had no presence in morrowind at all and I think they'd like to keep it more diverse, so you spot other things in each region. The presence of elven weaponry/armor might leave some surprises yet though . Edited by Pronam

I'd like to see the return of Ayleid ruins, I did really like the architecture. This time though I'd like them to feel a little less like dungeons and more like places where people lived and worked, in Oblivion they were too sterile, yes they would have been looted over the years but some signs of their culture would have remained. Where did they sleep? eat? trade? socialise? why does nothing remain of their time there? no carvings, paintings or writings. We know from ruins out here in the real world that broken bits and pieces tend to survive even in ruins that have been looted many times. Probably the biggest question though is what sort of idiot people fill their city with traps? the traps were built into the architecture so weren't placed there afterwards. Traps would be understandable in tombs to keep robbers out but in a city?

Compare the Ayleid ruins to the Dwemer ruins in Morrowind, they had broken furniture, bits of machinery, cups and even their own coins, they did feel like places that people used to live in.

According to the lore, the Ayleid ruins you saw are the lower sections of the cities: Sewers, tombs, and yes, dungeons. The aboveground sections were all but obliterated after the end of their empie.

I actually can't find it now. In fact, the lore books I'm looking through (Glories and Laments and a few from Mehrune's Razor) claim that those are the cities underground. Huh.

I'm going to just pretend that I'm right, because that is a really stupid design for a city like that.
