Kimberlee
SO - I am recently back into the Capital Wasteland after some truly horrible problems with Steam and am having trouble with my game. Below is the load order to mah game... And I have played with it and so far nothing. Any help would be appreciated. I ran FOEdit and it showed no errors and am confused. This sounds like a pretty simple fix. I am not new to this either. So some obvious things I have tried so far is toggle invalidation with FOMM and deactivating and reactivating both with the package manager. I checked the volumes of BOTH files and they seem to be %100. Edited September 12, 2011 by Kimberlee
BlackRampage
Don't feel silly. We all need help from time to time. Anyway, have you tried toggling archive invalidation on and off with the standalone version of it? I'd also recommend to get the Master Fix patches for Fellout, FWE and Lings. By the way: Shouldn't you need to remove those project beauty plugins? Kimberlee
If I knew more about the thing the master fixes actually FIX - Id give them a shot I suppose. As for a picture of my problem? Well I might still do that but all that needs fixing is the pathing I am sure. The objects take on the mesh of the things surrounding the item. In a big mess. The object still preserve functionality - they still work just fine - but look terrible. I havent the slightest idea why its only those items though. I noticed today that some weapons added by FWE are now doing the same things. Shotguns and laser rifles. Its a pathing error Im sure. I just have no idea how to fix it.. GrindedStone
I reckon Master fixes presents the theory that havok an primitive collsion data as far as how the game handles it being set to persistant refrence. Mostly persistant refrence is set on quest items and markers to insure they get updated more often than other "normal" content. From what I gather it sets all collisions to this thru scripting. I wouldn't know, because as a modder the theory sounded silly. Plus you know, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. That being said there are a large number of non-modder newer players that Master Fixes has cleared up major issues with for real. So the theory is proven... The random textures I would first toggle invalidation off, then apply it again. Go to your Fallout.ini an FalloutPrefs.ini look at them at the bottom to see that the archive invalidation .BSA is added, and I think it need to be before the other .BSA Then go to your data folder an look to see that a ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated.BSA was created. You can also drag this one up above the others so that it's first, for some reason FO3 edit will display it loading first this way, which means FO3 loads it first in theory anyway. From there remains only one way to track down the issue. You would need to look in .esm/.esp and the mesh to find the path to the texture, then go in your data/textures folder an look for it if it's there then there is a override or miss spelling inside the .esm an .esp in the load order somewhere. Kimberlee
And so lesson learned. Seems that I made a mistake thats left me embarassed. I forgot to add the textures from the SECOND folder for FWE and as a result, all the errors I spoke about were there. So as a result of placing those textures where they should have been, the game works perfectly. No longer have this problem and everything is working well. Thanks for the help anyways guys. I appreciate it!

GrindedStone
Oh dang, my bad... Master Fix is actually a huge glitch/bug/crash/issue project. There was another mod I had read about that sounded similar. As mentioned here they mean that Master Fix now has versions of some of the mods you are using that were built to work together better.
