Shatteredpath
First off, thank you for taking the time to read this. Anyhow, after many, many hours spent playing Oblivion, I decided to take a break for a few months. I just began playing the game again in anticipation for Skyrim, and decided yesterday to uninstall and disable my multitudes of mods for the sake of finding them all again. The game was running fine up until this morning. I've tried multiple versions of all kinds of saves (quick, auto, manual), and the game absolutely refuses to load exterior cells. It'll load a save in an interior cell, but it won't let me exit. No matter what, when the game tries to load an exterior cell, it'll load all the way to the end of the bar, switch screens, and... crash to the desktop. Sometimes I can hear a second of music, but that's it. I've tried to find an answer to this problem and have tried everything I've come across, but I'm at a loss. I've already tried deleting the .ini and moving the settings down significantly, but to no avail. I don't have any mods, aside from the unofficial patches and DarkUI'd DarN through OBMM. I'm not sure what other information is needed... I know my computer can handle Oblivion. I've played it for more than two hundred hours and this hasn't happened to me before this reinstall. Let me know if you need to know anything else. Any help would be much appreciated. Edited September 17, 2011 by Shatteredpath
HeyYou
Try starting a new game, make your way outside, and try and save.
Hickory
If you have absolutely no mods installed, and you have a new game save, load in the save that works (interior) and make a clean save as follows: Open the console and type coc testinghall set timescale to 30 saveini Now, without going into any of the other rooms (keep the looting temptation at bay) wait for a full four days (72 hours) and typesave "New Save" wait until the game saves and then type qqq Now restart the game and load your new save and type coc weyeexterior That will reset all of the cells and get you outside in Weye. Shatteredpath
Thanks for the help guys. I'm not sure which of your two suggestions worked, but combined with a reinstall and a reboot, I've got everything working as normal again. xD Thank you!
