willuminati
When attempting to do simple things like replace meshes for mods that don't include .esps, it just... doesn't work. Things like this seem to have no affect at all. I browse the folders it's supposed to be extracted to, and there's no original versions of the folders/meshes it's supposed to replace. And when it's saved in the appropriate place anyway, the game still loads the default mesh. In short, what do?

Question: where, exactly, did you place the ,nif file?
willuminati
In the location in the readme, Oblivion/Data/meshes etc And I guess more frustrated messing around on my own has solved the problem, I managed to get it and similar mods working by using OMM instead of just dropping them in the data files. I don't know why I had to do that, would it have something to do with using the steam version of the game?
HeyYou
More likely some variety of archive invalidation. The game will look in the .bsa files first, unless told specifically otherwise. OBMM had an archive invalidation tool, I think redirection is currently the preferred method.

It should go in \Meshes\Clothes\Sheogorath\ .
willuminati
This is why I asked the question I did. You placed the mesh in the wrong folder. It should go in \Meshes\Clothes\Sheogorath\ . See: and there's no original versions of the folders That folder didn't exist until I made it. I know how to install it and the like, I know where it was meant to go, and I put it there. And it didn't work. But like I said, problem solved, OBMM did it for me.
