Unable to spawn using console on Mod and DLC content only

As the title said. I am unable to use the console commands to spawn any item that has been added to my game via mods or DLC, anything in the game that is part of vanilla I can spawn no problem. I am using the correct starting 2 characters FOMM and I have tried it god knows how many times. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have googled this problem and was not able to find any help. Again, my console is working I can spawn items from vanilla new vegas, but DLC and Mod items are unable to be spawned.

Alright, is there a way to reset it?

Not for an existing save file; you would have to start a new game. Try adding 1 to the mod index you are using in your console commands until it works.

I just responded to your other post but I agree with @luthienanarion 100%. I've had the same problem before but my load order was being offset by 5 numbers. Hope you fix your problem.

Hi.

I never experienced anything like what Luthienanarion describes there. And I added and removed my share of mods during a game, regularly getting the message “This save game relies on content no longer available ...” and moving on from there. I never experienced “mod index offsetting”.

FOMM is not to be completely trusted with load order indexes, however. Under certain circumstances the load order reported by FOMM does NOT match the actual load order used by the game. FOMM is too “naive” and simple and does not take all factors into account that could force the game to load a certain file sooner or later.

“Wrong” load orders can crash the game on startup or make it unstable. But the game itself is pretty clever and automagically fixes some errors by itself. Some of those errors FOMM is oblivious to.

@Clouce: You never gave an example of the command that failed to spawn a mod (or DLC) item. Besides FOMM possibly reporting invalid mod index numbers ... maybe you misunderstood how to apply those index numbers. So ... I want to test you.

Please don't be afraid. I am not trying to make fun of you or make you look like a fool.

Test:

We want to spawn a “Lobotomite Mask” (from OldWorldBlues.esm) in the players inventory using the console. From consulting the GECK we know that the numerical form ID is 0100E68A.

Assuming this is your load order:

00 FalloutNV.esm

01 DeadMoney.esm

02 HonestHearts.esm

03 OldWorldBlues.esm

04 LonesomeRoad.esm

05 ...

What would be the console command to spawn the item in the players inventory?

I have actually made a new game and when I made this post was what I was actually using, idk if this matters but I did notice my saves did not start from 0 again, I think it is because I used the same name, Ill try to delete the old files and start new and see if that does it.

Go to console, and click on something that is added by the mod in question. The first 2 digits will be the same for everything else added by that mod.

I actually tried just that after I posted this and it didn't work :(

You would start with 03, I have actually been able to use console to spawn DLC and Mod content in the past, it started once at the beginning of my last fresh start where I once again used the same name... So I'm thinking maybe that has something to do with it. The things I am trying to spawn are the Elite Riot Gear from Lonsome Road and the Reinforced Chinese Stealthsuit from the mod of the same name.

Thanks for the replys, I actually just wiped fallout clean because I had an error after adding some UI mods, I needed to refresh all my mods any way its been several months. Ill get some things loaded back up delete my old saves and see if I can fix it from there. Thx again ill report back what I find in a few hours.

Q has given the best answer. In game find some object to click on, which is from OWB. Replace the first two digits of the mask ID with the first two digits of the object you clicked. If you tried this and it did not work, please describe exactly what you did, and what went wrong. Edited by davidlallen

I dropped the RCSS clicked it after going into console, I think typed player.additem 1B <-My Load order as according to FOMM and then put in the code, I then tried using just the code that was given to me by clicking it while in console, I then tried using just the first two characters of the code I got from clicking on the item while in console and what is supposed to be the ID after XX based on the authors post on the page for RCSS. I then also tried using the 1B and the code I got from clicking the item while in console while excluding the first two numbers.

Idk if it is important but the ID that was given to me by the console was not anything like the ID that was posted on the front of the authors page for RCSS which I have spawned in the past without a problem, but it was on my first play through.

I am now on my 3rd play through using the same name that I have for all 3 plays. I still have not tested anything I am downloading new mods atm.
