So, anyone have an idea what's going on?

I used to be able to run Crysis on maxed quality,

now I can't even run it smoothly on medium,

I tried playing Dead Island and everything is choppy.

It's quite odd. :armscrossed:

Try a disk defragmentation software, like Defraggler. And defrag the disk where your games are installed on.

And update your video drivers.

You don't say how old your rig is, but if a year or more could be overheating. Check your temperatures, blow out any dust and reseat the graphics card. (Hint: for blowing out dust everyone says use a can of compressed air but if you or someone in the house has a hairdryer with a cold button((ionic is best)) that works just as well)
