Handmantoot
As the title says, Is there anyway to load a new race into your game without starting a new game?I use the chocolate elf race, and I would like to see what the Moonshadow Elves race would look like in some gear I have.Help would be much appreciated! Fonger
console, showracemenu, edit and save before closing the character menu then load. why saving BEFORE closing?because the function was written for a new game only and if you don't you get burned. Someone92
console, showracemenu, edit and save before closing the character menu then load.Don't close the menu at all or the game will freeze. And make sure you can actually save, e.g. don't open the race menu if you are currently in your inventory; I made that mistake once and all the changes I made were in vain. Caithe
why saving BEFORE closing?Changing your race, and clicking "done", reset your character stats. Since save is greyed out when you're in race menu, open the console first, then press esc and save. Then load your save instead of clicking done. You wont have the race bonus by doing it this way but you still can add them with the console.
ub3rman123
Here's the method I found doesn't mess up your game: 1. Open the console.2. ShowRaceMenu3. Close the console now that it's open and make your changes4. Open the console again5. Click Done to close the menu That should work. It's a lot easier than all the stuff with saving while in the menu.

ub3rman123
It hasn't ever done it for me. I'd suggest saving beforehand in case it does, though.
