LeonhardJant
Forgive me if this has already been suggested. Has anyone created or thought of creating a mod that allows access to the Fallout 3 DLC (specifically Operation Anchorage, The Pitt, Mothership Zeta, and Point Lookout) from New Vegas? It makes sense to me since each of them has a specific point of origin that brings the player to a different area. Of course I understand that it probably wouldn't be so simple as adding Tobar to the Vegas Strip but I don't know enough about modding to know just how much more difficult. I would be willing to make it myself but I don't know enough about modding to even know where to start. Ideas, thoughts or directions appreciated. Adviser69
Why don't you try out A Requiem for the Capital Wasteland, a mod that connects Fallout 3 (and it's DLCs) to Fallout New Vegas. It still seems to be a work in progress, but what I've been able to play of it is pretty fun. You can find it at this link:http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=41480
bben46
And, You think getting just a DLC designed to work in one game will be easier to get to work in a different game? My guess is it would actually be harder. The FO3 DLCs NEED Fallout3 to work. And on top of that, using a FO3 DLC without having FO3 installed will be against Bethesda's - and TheNexus policy - and cannot be posted as a mod here. Sunnie
Well I could never get that mod working it, If someone decides to make their own mod to work around this not my fault, freedom of speech Encouraging people to do illegal stuff is not the brightest thing.. nor is the less than supportive forum handle... fawc ue nex forums... really?

shittakaburi
I brought the copyright thing up in the Nazi thread and I won't beat it to death here. Real quick: Terms of Use does not equal law. If I buy a hammer and the hammer manufacturer says you may only use this hammer on nails manufactured by our company, that is not legally binding (though it may absolve the hammer manufacturer of responsibility should you break your thumb while hammering "illicit" nails). It gets a whole lot greyer with with software because you don't own the software you purchase, you license it. Though I'm on shaky ground when it comes to the laws surrounding licensing, we can look to the recent decision about the legalization of jailbreaking by the Copyright Office, which said, in part, "...while a copyright owner might try to restrict the programs that can be run on a particular operating system, copyright law is not the vehicle for imposition of such restrictions.” To me, this strongly suggests that modifying a legally obtained DLC to work on a different than intended legally obtained video game would be protected, no matter how Bethesda feels about it. HOWEVER...we are all proud members of the Nexus forums and, by participating on said forums, we have agreed to abide by their rules. The 1st Amendment, i.e. Freedom of Speech, prevents the government from restricting your freedom of expression. It does not prevent your mother from washing your mouth out with soap when you curse out your brother, it does not prevent Wal-Mart from firing you because drew horns on all their Justin Beiber posters, and it does not prevent the Nexus from banning you for violating its Terms of Use. Additionally, as I pointed out in another copyright rant, being legally correct when it comes to copyright does not prevent you from being sued and lawsuits, no matter how much the law is on your side, are expensive. It's wise and to everyone's benefit that the Nexus err on the side of caution when it comes to copyright. But, even in this chilling copyright climate, we shouldn't give up on at least knowing the line between the legal and the illegal, even if we are not foolhardy enough to test it for ourselves. I was going to suggest something like this, but one that would allow you to get beamed up to MZ after attacking and killing the aliens and looting their bodies. To me, this is the only DLC that makes sense as a crossover for New Vegas. Now, I don't know how legal that would be due to copyright issues concerning this type of crossover, as the Requiem mod has been banned from this site. I don't know if Robin would have an issue with just one DLC being used in conjunction with/as a mod for New Vegas, but ultimately it's his call.
