Not finding Nightmare even remotely difficult.

So I played the game through on normal the other week as a mage. After finishing I thought I'd do a role play character as a human board and sword on Nightmare difficulty, but I'm finding it almost easier. I have the following mods installed

Advanced Tactics

Improved Atmosphere

Combat Tweaks

Skip the Fade

Just wondering if its maybe one of those mods that is causing a problem with the difficulty of the game. One thought came to mind is that now that I'm consecrating on the tank (my character). Could anyone compare their experience with nightmare to mine?

HOW?! I can't even beat the game on easy without using cheats!

Anyway, I think I remember seeing a mod that makes nightmare much harder, but I can't remember what it is called. Maybe try searching the Dragon Age Nexus for 'nightmare' and perhaps it'll turn up.

It's quite easy, indeed.

Curently running solo warrior on nightmare. I barely need to use potions >.> I also seem to oneshot most enemies.

On the other hand, I found it night-impossible on my Blood/Spirit Healer mage. If just OE enemy got out of my CC, I was dead. Not to ention every golem/ogre would kick my poor ass over and over again.

On topic:

I also remember there being a nightmare + mod. Might be worth checking out!

Cheers,

Math

Don't forget that there is one thing no difficulty-altering mod can take into account:

the metagaming of the player.

After all...if you've played through a few times, you know where everything is and can plan accordingly before the combats begin...can't you? ;)

If you got more than 1 mage in your group, the game is really easy, period. If your main character is an arcane warrior/blood mage, then your game is going to be easy, no matter the difficulty. 3 mages + 1 tank (Alistair) = complete face roll. If you think the game is too hard, do a main character Arcane warrior/Blood mage, and use the respec mod on Morrigan + Wynne and make them both Blood mage, bring a warrior or Leliana (bard) also makes a good addition.

The hardest parts of the game are all the early stages, before you get leveled up and geared out.

The Harvester boss in Golems of Amgarrak DLC is tough pretty much no matter what. I found the boss to be easiest with either a Legionaire Rogue, or a Sword and shield tank. You need a tank in that fight, and they don't provide you with an adequate one, so you need to be IT.

Wheni first played game - on normal - from half-game to the end i was going solo (played warrior). Then i switched to nightmare (also warrior) and it was too easy, but this time i had to use party to the end. I tried Nightmare Plus mod, but it still was too easy. Then i downloaded Flash Creatures Rescale by flash_in_the_flesh: http://www.dragonagenexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1403

During origin i switched to easy. After Lothering i had to deinstall it, because it was too hard. Now i'm playing again, with nightmare plus. Difficulty: nightmare. It's quite easy, but i try to play different than in other cases. Usually i played warrior (shield or two-handed), had Alistair as tank, Leliana as archer and Wynne as healer. Now i'm going to switch Alistair to Sten and Wynne to Morrigan. I'll see. If it'll be too easy i'll install flash once again, set difficulty to nightmare and make heroic suicide by attacking Howe's soldier.
