Sooooo...... The women will be more realistic right?

There's bound to be a massive improvement over Oblivion vanilla simply from being a 2K11 game rather than a 2K5 game, but I doubt we'll get anywhere near that pic with Vanilla-I'll eat my hat if we do, but I think we'll (hopefully) be seeing reincarnations of the classic Oblivion mods fairly soon post launch. And then there's the other thing that ultra graphics setting isn't always enough-some people jusrt HAVE to have a slightly higher res. and that's where a lot of great mods started.

I'm not holding my breath. I was very excited when I saw the body type slider... but I'm not expecting a lot. Fallout: New Vegas should have been better than Fallout 3 but it was not. It's the same company that made the previous game. They never seemed really interested in the race models aside from the "Yes, that looks and moves vaguely like a human. Let's go make more monsters!" :wallbash:

Again, the modsmiths will make this a better-looking game. That I can rely on.

Its a moddable game. Expect anything and everything to happen.

I reckon it will first start with loads of people making and then posting their own versions of higher res textures. Later down the road it will then proceed to some individual making or altering the vanilla meshes into something else or something new.

As far as that "body type slider" goes, I reckon it will be exactly the same thing as as they let you do in games these days to sculpt your character's face using sliders, only you can do it to the body, but there will be only one, or a very, very limited number of sliders.

I have no doubt that there will be a significant modding effort toward the character models. But... from what we've seen from the screenshots... the women look... attractive and not like Meg from Family Guy. I've got no complaints, but I'm sure people will mod more body customization options in, only prudent.

Hey!! you can be sure that there will be tons of different renders for the body shapes and textures, just like it happens with Crysis 2, a lot of people says its so high render than the mods aren't necessary now.. but in 1 month there was like... 20 re-textures for the environment with just a stunning HD detail.

What doth this word 'realistic' mean?

That is confusing me. Not trying to be difficult. Serious.

Insofar as character models were in Oblivion as shipped. I found them horrid.

With mods, somewhat more tolerable.

But my main experience with these games was with Fallout 3 and FNV.

Found the facial appearance there not as bad, but still lacking. Not as bad as Oblivion was.

FNV was better though, somewhat.

From what I've seen of the photos from this game, not that many yet.

I"d say this is a step up from Oblivion but I'm still having issues with what I saw. Odd facial structures .

True, I haven't seen all the races. Too soon to say if things I see are horrid. I doubt they will be but a lot of that is on faith

that things were improved a great deal in this department.

What I do not doubt, it is beyond a doubt there will be work done on body and facial appearance textures. That is a given.

No matter how 'good' the game is as shipped. People will find things to tweak.

That is a good thing. And KUDOS to outfits like Bethesda for making such mod friendly games.

I'd pay extra for even more mod friendly attitudes and efforts.

Well, my definition of realistic is "Looks like something that could exist without plastic surgery, implants, and so on." So far, I think it looks fine. BBB, anime conversion that make your character look like she's 12, and the like are not realistic. I applaud the hard work and talent that go into those mods, but they're not realistic by my own definition.
