zanity
When it comes to memory, there are TWO families of mods. Mods whose memory footrpint is so TINY, you can forget about memory being a limiting factor. And mods whose memory footprint is just GIANT. Texture overhaul mods, radio mods, and video tape mods fall into the GIANT category- cos they are mods simply giving you massive new datasets. Beth was TOO LAZY to support MP3/AAC (or the many UTTERLY FREE CODECS) properly, so radio mods are always over-sized, which ain't an issue on the PC of course. Clever little scripty mods often bring great new features, without using significant resources at all. But even mods like those that seek to seriously re-costume a faction can start to burn thru significant amounts of memory. No-one said console modding (of these ANCIENT engine games) would be the analogue of PC modding. But the NEXT Beth open-world game will probably see a BETTER modding experience on the consoles over the PC version.
Thaneize
I always wonder why people consider this an Ancient engine game, FO4 is the first game to use the final engine, skyrim was the first game with the engine, but it was more like a late beta version. The engine therefore is max 5 years old. Its just that the engine just isn't very modern from the way it works and from the opportunity you have ingame (no craters after nukes, no broken building), but thats the price for easy modding. The Creation Engine is a 3D video game engine created by Bethesda Game Studios based on the Gamebryo engine. The Gamebryo engine came out in 91 so it's a little more ancient then you think. yzerman19
2 GB of mods means few large world/quest mods will fit on. Sorry...BUT THAT IS REALITY!

There are even places in the CK where it refers to gamebyro processes.
RS13
like digitaltrucker said it's impossible to tell but as an example I have 84 mods (minus my base game texture replacer also some mods have 4k textures) and it uses 4.55 gb so 40ish mods in 2 gb should be doable. You could probably get about 100 if you get mods with low res textures. combine mods, remove readmes and are careful. This is for consoles. He can't combine mods or remove readmes (although readmes probably won't be included unless the author mod author fogets to remove them).
Hypertion
the GB limit is caused by the console file structure, it can be increased but will not be infinite like PC.. i do not know if the PS4 will have the same limits, and chances are by the time PS4 gets it, Bethesda will be willing to raise it anyways. as for the number of Mods, that depends on what you want. some of the better console avilable mods are 0.5 gigs on their own... but add a lot. The Xbox One uses NTFS for internal / external hard drives, which is perfectly capable of addressing files larger than 2 gigabytes.
