ancalimonungol
Is hair going to be static in Skyrim just like previous Bethesda titles? (I mean will we be able to headbang at last?) for example like this: or this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj2UdZ-G0vg Clothes is not THAT important but hair? jhardingame
As far as we know, it's still all static.

ancalimonungol
I hope their next title catches with the times.
TwiggySkyrim
I think it's static. The examples you showed probably used hair and fur plugin for Max/Maya. For a decent looking hair simulation it takes about 20-30 seconds per frame just for the physics to be translated. The alternative would be for the hair to be rigged with a skeleton structure just like the body is. The bones could then have simple ragdoll physics applied to them. Hopefully something like this is included in the game.
ita
The hair in-game is static, but I've heard that if you pay Bethesda an extra 200$ these guys will shave their heads and fashion a wig out of it and send it to you, for that authentic Viking feel. mikedepreston
Why would you want your character to headbang? Not really suitable activity for the folk or small-scale chamber music that fits with such a game :whistling:

CalibanX
Yeah, those videos are from the company hired to do work for the upcoming World of Darkness MMO. I think the awesome hair & cloth physics is great, but we'll have to wait & see how applicable they are in actual game environments when everyone's hair & clothes are blowing around like that. Will it adversely affect frame rates?
