Hi,

I have a new computer and started modding Skyrim to get in touch with the performance of the machine.

computer data:
Intel Core i7 6700K
16,0GB DDR4 Ram
8192 MBATI AMD Radeon R9 390 Series

First of all, I am using MO to install the Mods and LOOT/TS5Edit to order and clean the mods.

SSME is also installed.

I started the Game and everything went fine until I left the cave after Helgen. Then when I leave the entrance I get CTDs (it doesn't matter in which direction I go). First I had a look at some Papyrus Logs and thought I found the mods that did not work together, but afterwards it still crashed and did not produce any logfiles.

here are the links to the log files before completely disabeling dual sheat redux and patch:

I hope that someone can help me.

Thx in advance.

P.S. Yes I know that I use many mods, but most of it are some overhauls and additional weapons/armors/locations/quests

Do a binary search, deactivate half of you mods - test game. If no crash, bad mod(s) is in the half you deactivated, if you still crash disable half of what's left and retest. Do this until you find the problem mod(s), reactivate all other mods and leave them turned off and test again. If you don't crash, you've found your problem(s).

I don't see a merge / bash patch either, might want to create one and add it in with such a long load order.

FYI papyrus logs arent crash logs. They show scripting errors.

And i repeat this to people over and over......do NOT install 50 mods at once. This is what happens when you do. You get crashes and have NO idea when the problem started.

always always always test your game after every few mods......skse plugins i wouldnt worry about. But definitely test after any graphical mod or anything adding or modfying content in the game.

Going through nexus and clicking on random mods that look cool without any testing or thoughts of compatbility and then expecting the game to just work......will always lead to wasted time and dissapoinment

@ironbender

I know that papyrus logs are no crash logs. But they provide some Information about some of my used mods. If there is some crashlog, then I haven't found out about it. This might be due to the fact, that this is the first time for me to mod Skyrim extensively. For the part with the 50 (or more) mods, I at least tried to test them a bit. I started the game and did a few minutes of gameplay, but apparently not enough to find the bug, that is causen the CTDs. How long would be sufficient to test some mods? And one part of my list might exactly be the "cool looking stuff" but with the rest I spent several hours to look into compatibility. Anyways, thanks a lot for the Link to the troubleshootting guide.

Alotta ppl posting their load orders and none of the ones I've seen ( including this one ) don't have a Bashed Patch.

Well not everybody knows about bashed and merged patches. And not everybody might think everything through. They might see some cool video on Youtube about a highly modded Skyrim and just start with the Nexus mod manager. Afterwards they encounter problems and learn about MO, LOOT and TES5Edit. But at this point they might be so frustrated (probably about ther own naive expectations) that they just ask for help and try to provide as much information as they can.

Well I would start my search for the bad mods when I have a bit more time. Is there any rule of thumb how to devide the mods (just deactivating one half is probably a bad idea because of dependencies)? I created a merged patch with this guide:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtLolEgVMTg

Still crashes. Would it be good to create a bash patch before doing the binary search? Or is there no hope, that it might fix the problem without the extensive error search?

Again, THX for the help so far.

SSME is outdated and simply building a merged patch doesnt mean your problem will be gone. Its merely a step to help with compatibility and stability.

I STRONGLY reccommend you take the time to follow a good guide like the STEP guide or any other decent beginner guide and do all the proper setup and everything correctly start to finish.

Ironbender,

I followed this guide successfully today, posted the link in another post before that I beleve you were also on:

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/74427/?

What drew me to it is apart from being very recently made (May 2016) there's a good guide to implement some new dll patch memory manager being used that make's skse sheson's and all the other ones (safety, stableugrids, etc) obsolete. When I say 'new' DLL, I haven't really heard about it elsewhere before.

I was skeptical after my first try was not successful - then I told myself that it *was* later at night, I was tired, yadayada so I tried it again today and man oh man, my game is so smooth now so far

I also had some snags along the way following the guide and the author of the write-up got right back to me both times - wihtin hours. I posted the 3 items I struggled with so if someone follows this guide, should also look at the recent posts in his page's Posts page as my questions and his answers may help clarify his guide a bit.

I didn't know you did a couple guides as well, will need to give those a look-see soon. :)

yeah thats a good one. That guide is actually what got me using Crash Fixes properly. I had first seen it in skyrim revisited. But neovalen doesnt provide instructions on using it correctly.

I havent personally written any guides all the things you see me link people to or that i post are things ive read or heard or watched from people much much smarter than me lol.

I just research and follow directions. I wish i could take credit for a guide but i cant :(

GamerPoets, DirtyWeasel, The STEP team, and random google searches and people on here are where i get my information.
