Are you living under a rock Mr Lostone? :P

I dont Quite understand your meanning, after all I am a Dwarf and love bunkers :P

I just mean that most people that play minecraft know of the famous mods I refer to. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/psyduck.gif

I don't even bother that much with minecraftforums anymore either :P http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/rolleyes.gif

The "community" seems to be getting worse and worse by the day. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/armscrossed.gif

As much as they preach about rules they just don't enforce them on anyone. It's horrible :P http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/facepalm.gif

Anyway what did you think of the Wasteland mod? :D

Havent tried it, Wasn't updated to 1.8.1 and I am looking around for the version of minecraft that it needs lol, My external HD is a dangerous place for back ups

as for the forums, I very rarely go on them and I dont really search for mods. Just have a look when suggested. I think I might start a thread on the nexus for the good mods though they seem quite difficult to find at times

I have every minecraft version, except for the ones that were replaced by patches. Which is most of them... Haha.

But I do have a really delicious Beta 1.7.3 backup that includes GLSL shaders, mcpatcher and world selector I think it's called.

Can't check as minecraftforums are having their USUAL downtime. It's always down for crying out loud haha. http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/facepalm.gif

But yeah here's the delicious version I have in action... Everything moves, plants, grass, leaves and even wheat. I also managed to get water waving up and down before 1.8 came out. But not seen in the video :(

But yeah The world select or world loader mod, It had various world generations. You could make a world in nothing but the Nether, on islands, sky islands, desert or just normal.

Other mod authors also made their own for it too, that's what it was essentially designed for. Wasteland Mod got a plugin for it.

I would direct you to it if I could get on mcforums.

Jeb really, really, REALLY needs to fix the terrain generation order. Man-made things should be last for obvious reasons, and if you can't fix how these unique locations interact with each other, then just make sure that only one happens within a 25x25 chunk space. But it would be so awesome if the mine and stronghold generator detected ravines and put bridges and trestles there instead of trying to put in rooms or shaft supports...

Also,

End Stone looks like a fantastic building material, but too bad you can't bring it out of The End, or if you play Creative. It's good to see the variety of these materials expanding but you gotta make it useful!

You can get End Stone back to the overworld by cheating if that counts?

Well Pre Release 5 is mostly a typical bugfix update, the game runs much more smoother now.

I kinda like the way the abandoned mines and strongholds generate. Especially in ravines. It makes it look like the world cracked open and the mines fell.

I've also found some pools of lava blasting through the floor of strongholds.

Looks mightily impressive.

Although I do agree that they should be generated after terrain, not before.

I think it's because terrain makes up a larger amount of land (naturally) and it would be more efficient to have it load first.

Still, in logic, why would a mine cut through a stronghold? It's one of those cases where if the manmade stuff was put last it would result in a better experience, then by detecting existing structures or caves it would adapt itself to a logical setup. Both strongholds and mines suffer from spacing problems, though...

Yeah that much is true :/

Ah well.

We shall see with the next potential pre release or with the "final" release.... I still don't think it will be final haha.

Well with Pre Release 5 finally out of the bag and in peoples hands I took the opportunity to throw everything I have out into the public. Get it over and done with.

So I managed to throw together a video for my texture pack.

It has the GLSL shaders mod enabled in it to make extra eye candy for you ;)

ive has an idea verry soon, I am going to make a mod that make strongholds generate last, that would fix a majority of the problems, it seems like it might be easy to do
