Oblivion Main Menu won't show

Hey guys,

I'm relatively new to the modding community so please forgive any info exclusions that may arise. I will do my best to be thorough.

I had messed up my game with some mods and decided to do a clean install so after uninstalling Oblivion and removing all related files I reinstalled the game and started adding texture pack mods and such. When I got to the OBSE & OBGEv2 core extensions I was almost done with the initial mods and launched the game using the OBSE_Loader. When I got to the main menu all of the icons/words were not visible. When I closed the game and launched through the oblivion launcher the Main Menu appeared as it should. Based on other forums and posts about this topic (I could only find one) Forum Link they mentioned something about breaking the .ini file and allowing it to rebuild to fix the issue. I tried cutting the file "Oblivion_default.ini" file out and moving it to my desktop temporarily then re-launched the game using the OBSE_loader but that didn't fix the issue. I am afraid I don't know where to go from here. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Do not move Oblivion_default.ini out. If that file is messed up, you may have to reinstall the whole game(it's template for Oblivion.ini). Disable AA if you enabled it(your graphic driver, not the game), and check.

Thanks a lot for the help! I checked my nVidia settings and found that the Anti-Aliasing is "Application Controlled", I then disabled it in Oblivion and ran the game again using the OBSE_Loader and found that the main menu now displays properly. It is great that I now know how to correct the problem, however, the smoothing effect that Anti-Aliasing has on the visuals is desirable. I don't suppose you would know how to fix this without disabling Anti-Aliasing?

Thanks again for your help and fast reply! It is appreciated

You could try using one of the anti-aliasing shaders for OBGE. I personally use MDLAA and it does quite a nice job.

You can find a list of the available AA shaders here.

Thanks a lot for the help. I was reading the user manual on the website you linked to and it all seemed a little beyond my experience. I will have to play with it some more and see if I can't figure it out.

I might have to run it without AA if I can't get it to work.
