jedimembrain
So, according to this, everyone who has a 64 bit computer with at least 4 GB of RAM must install that Large Address Aware Patch? How else are you supposed to get the "6GB of RAM for the HD version" of the game without it?He meant 6Gb of free HDD space This^ And Ive been thinking .. I think ultra might be because of the draw distance sliders their games tend to have .. I don't think many people max those out since at a certain point its needless lag.. I hope .. cause the 260 is a beast but not exactly top of the line .. my 550 matches it fairly well .. but what do I need to run this so called "ultra" Skyrim?? Must have! O-O lol
Adrius2
Yeah I've never heard of something like that Jedimembrain. Saying "this will max the game out" would just get Bethesda in trouble. Anyway, I remember The Witcher 2 having a Quad-Core requirement as well but I breezed through that with my Dual-Core... so I don't think I'll need to upgrade. Hopefully. Requirements really don't mean much anymore these days. I don't think you'll have to upgrade at all..The Witcher 2's graphics are far superior to Skyrim's
Ankleon
Can anyone tell me if this will do? I'm not good with specs :P. Maybe I'll consider buying it for PC after all: intel i7-2630QMCPU @ 2.00GHz4GB RAMGeForce GT 540M 2.7 GB
jedimembrain
does for every game Ive ran .. if it says recomended and I have it or better then I'm maxing the game out .. this goes for crysis2,sims3,CivV, so on so on .. Its not an exact science but the rec specs normally mean high settings not mid range settings.
egg
why would they release a recomended spec if its not the high specs ... that means their are three specs? .. min, rec, ultra .. they havn't posted ultra and thats what I wanna see .. that the whole point of a spec release. Since when do "Recommended specs" mean "This is what you need to play it with maxed settings"? It never has  More like "This is what you need to play it with good-enough-settings". This ^^ I reckon I should be able to play on Ultra looking at these. I kinda expected that anyway even though my PC is only really mid range. Adrius2
@Illiad86: Indeed, there are so many different types of GPUs and CPUs and everything that it's impossible to give a correct estimate of performance; the difference from one quad-core to another quad-core can be insane. We'll have better estimates once the game is out and people have tried it with all the different hardware out there.
scot
My computer is above the specs apart from my RAM wich is 4 GB with 32-bit windows 7 in reality is 3.25 usable.I can run every game with ultra including witcher 2.Do you think I should upgrade my RAM(including changing 32-bit to 64 bit windows)?I´m counting to run skyrim with everything maxed out like every game I play on my pc. Illiad86
Upgrading your RAM wouldn't be necessary, but I would get 64 bit Windows at least. It just runs faster in general. I haven't seen a difference between 4GB (which I have) and 6GB (which my bf has) so far. But, I'm just giggling right now. My friend went and bought a $500 graphics card "just to play Skyrim". I showed him the specs just now and his response was "fuuuuuuuuuuu" :P He had the same card as me (5770), I told him not to waste his money, and he still did...*sigh* Edited October 25, 2011 by Illiad86
