Iv000
Sorry Ankleon if I upset you, I didn't mean to. My post should have been more clear, It wasn't directed at you but the people who call Todd a "liar".

My post should have been more clear, It wasn't directed at you but the people who call Todd a "liar". No offense taken, it was my fault. @Coralfang: I think that if they've got a pretty good compression method you can still get 10GB to 6GB. Anyone want to correct/clarify? Lowk
From the PC specs thread: Wasn't Oblivion less than 6gb with all the DLC and The Shivering Isles? I don't judge a game on harddrive space alone. Shogun2 takes 32gb yet it is just a RTS with a few dozens units, a single campaign map, and a few factions. Borderlands is 7gb and that game is huge with thousands of weapons. Morrowind was only 700mb if I remember yet one of the greatest RPGs of all time. Dragon Age Origins with all the DLC is 15gb yet it is copy pasted forest, tunnels, no open world, and few weapons. I can go on and on about how required harddrive space has nothing to do with the quality of a game or even the amount of content in most cases. Can someone explain why content =/= game size in terms of GB? Is it just about the compression?
jhardingame
Just a quote from back in August by Camonna Tong (full post here) Oblivion total was over 20 GB uncompressed and 12 or 14 compressed (Now it is 4GB compressedwhich means it went down a lot. As you can see compression has went a long way I'm sure a lot of the experienced modders know that.) Skyrim is over 50 GB and compressed is 7Gb or so (But that is a rumor know one knows yet.) So according to Todd Howard, seems rumor was for the most part, true.
hejpadig
Todd is the man. Don't doubt him guys, he knows his s***. There won't be any disappointments. He even wanted the staff to publish his answer so the stubborn crowd would understand that they are serious.

Lowk
Lesson learned: do not underestimate the power of compression. Winrar FTW!
3WINTERS
Also, the Elder Scrolls series doesn't have these big cut-scene videos that many games of 10gb have, eg. the Witcher 2, Dragon age origins/2, these videos themselves could take up a lot of space themselves, even compressed.
