Will a HDMI cable make a console versions look like PC versions?

Hey guys, just been looking for some info about the console version of Skyrim, comparing the graphical elements of it to PC.

Just wondering, if I hooked up my PS3 to my 1080p Panasonic TV with a HDMI cable, would it look similar (or identical) to the PC version?

Thanks for your input.

Not after people get done modding their PC game it won't.

Keep in mind that even though you are running it through an HDMI, the 360 will only be pushing 720p. Then you TV does the upscaling to 1080p. So the source material is still 720p. Honestly, I can't really tell the difference between using component cables or HDMI with my 360. There's a tiny bit of difference, but not much to speak of.

So, using an HDMI will look better then using component on the 360 but probably not nearly as good as a PC that is running the game on high or ultra settings.

Personally with my TV and Xbox, the difference between using component cables and my HDMI cable is a HUGE difference. But that may just be because of my tv, idk but all I know is that I am perfectly happy with the graphics quality of my games with my HDMI cable. Could it look better on pc, yeah, but I personally am not that big of a stickler so I'm content and I think that is what matters, if you the person who is purchasing the game for whatever system is happy. So don't let the pc trolls who sit there and say how superior there way of playing it is. (not saying anybody has done that thus far) Just play on which ever system makes you more comfortable. Hope that helped a little. Cheers.

Thanks for your input dude. I'm currently quite happy with the graphics on my PS3; just looking to kick it up a tiny notch.

HDMI looks better from what I heard on TVs. I haven't owned a console since the PS2, but when I helped my uncle set up his TV, we gave him an HDMI cable for his Xbox 360. It did look a bit better than component cables. It's nice that they transfer audio too.

As far as it looking better than the PC, all depends I guess. Nearly all monitors are 1080p (), so they look about the same. I have a 24" 1920x1200 16:10 monitor, tried 1080 on it once and it looked horrible. But, LCD monitors are meant to be at their native resolution. Games do look quite different at 1200...much crisper than 1080, but 1200 monitors are extremely expensive. I'm just lucky I got it cheap :P

Still, it's worth getting it for the PC if it can handle it (with the specs out, it's not very much). I showed a buddy who played Oblivion on the Xbox 360 what it looks like modded and his mouth dropped.
