Dragonborn0
Two weeks till launch. I'm worried. Fallout 3, New Vegas and RAGE all went Gold 17+ days before their launches. Arkham City and Revelations both went Gold 3 weeks prior. What's going on?

Iv000
When a game goes gold it means it's finished and ready for mass production. And it should be gold in a few days, don't worry.
Adrius2
Gone "Gold" is a way of saying that the "Golden Disc" has been delivered to the factories from which all other copies of the product are made from. It's an old term, basically means it's ready for mass production. EDIT: Blargh. My speed is inferior. Edited October 27, 2011 by Adrius2
Deleted472477User
It could be anything. Most likely, Bethesda hasn't chosen to release that information yet. Edited October 27, 2011 by nyxalinth
Tcafitra
Quick Batman, to the Wiki! In hardware and software development, a golden master is the reference model from which copies are mass-produced. An analogy is made to the production of certain types of physical media. In that process, a mold is cast in gold, from which subsequent copies are derived. The golden master is usually the release to manufacturing (RTM) version, and therefore the first public/commercial version. It represents the development stage of "RTM" (Release To Manufacturing). Reaching this stage is said to be "going gold", or "gone golden."
