Game CTD after trying to load up save

As the title says I CTD when I try to load a save or even start a new game. This started after I added more mods to my already unstable game.

I tried removing the mods and running the game and loading up the save (This save never had the new mods loaded on it) and it still won't load.

LOOT isn't helping, my load order seems to be in order (no pun intended), and validating files doesn't fix it.

All I have is a cryptic Papyrus log to aid me (you) in the quest to fix my game:

Oh, and here's my load order too:

A beer for whoever fixes this issue!

Are you using a mod manager like Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) or are you using Beth.net to download and install your mods?

If you used NMM then here are some suggestions.

First have you validated your game files in Steam to make sure the game files themselves are ok?

Next when you say that you removed your mods how exactly did you do that? Again I'm recommending this if you are using NMM. I never use Beth.net to download or install mods so can't help in that regard. Anyway if you indeed do use NMM then how did you actually uninstall the mods? Did you just make the mods inactive? If you only deactivated the plugins then you need to actually uninstall the mods. Go into the mod screen of NMM, right click each mod and select uninstall or delete and then select from active profile. This will remove the mod but it can still be reinstalled later without the need of downloading it again.

Finally if all above fails then you could try to do a re-install of FO4. But first uninstall using Steam. Then go and delete all FO4 related files. These include the FO4 folder in the documents folder (where the ini and saved games files are located). Also delete the FO4 folder where your plugins.txt file is located. Also delete the FO4 folder in your Steam folder. This is the actual folder where the game is installed. After doing this I'd suggest rebooting your computer and then reinstall the game. But before installing any mods first lauch the game via steam or the FO4.exe. This will have you set your game settings such as video resolution as well as creating your game ini files again (make sure your game resolution is the same as your Windows desktop resolution or else the game will CTD even before you get to the game screen). Then see if the game will run by starting a new game. If that works then you can try running one of your saved games to see if it will actually run even though it will warn you that you are missing required mods (just click ok). If the saved game runs ok just quit without saving and then you can start adding your mods again. But do so in small numbers at a time testing to see if the game still runs ok. Hopefully everything will be good but then again... Anyway good luck...

Yes I use NMM

I said I tried validating files in my original post

I removed mods by uninstalling and deactivating them via NMM by right clicking and uninstalling from active profile. I'd would NEVER use Beth.net to get mods.

I haven't tried uninstalling the game yet because it didn't seem like a problem with the game itself. \But this is a Bethesda game, anything is possible, right?

I'm gonna reinstall it and then get back to you.

Alright so after removing 5 mods at a time I eventually narrowed it down to two mods: Apocalypse Accessories and no dot dot dot.

No clue why those two mods were causing issues but I got rid of them and now I can make new games and play on my saves again.

Thanks for the help Royhr

I don't use no dot dot dot but have read somewhere that there was a problem with that mod after the 1.5 update. Have you looked at the mod on nexus to see if there is an update or fix for that mod? I believe that there are other mods or hud ui mods that do what no dot dot dot does.

I never used Apocalypse Accessories so I have idea and have not read or heard of anybody posting any issues.

I got the same problem but works out installing nothing else than CBBE, or Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch.esp. Anytime I try adding another mod, and I mean any other including just new textures, I get the same result at various stages of the start: CTD!

It happened the same using NMM and, in alternative, Mod Organizer {whose settings and mods folders seems not being recognized by the game}.

So frustrating... I used FO4 before with no problem at all. Should I roll back to my original version of the game and give up anything, like DLCs, that doesn't work on old versions of the game or is there any solution? I'm going out of mind...

Cheers!

I had the more or less the same - out of the blue. Suddenly my game just stopped working. CTD at various stages of startup. At the latest at the load screen. Which was extremely frustrating, since I didn't change anything about my configuration between the game working fine and not working at all.

Without any guarantees - what I did was to deactivate all mods in NMM. Then I verified game cache in steam. The game started again. I did a clean save and reinstalled the mods one by one, always looking if any of them had been updated since the version I already had downloaded.
