I was thinking about the plot to Skyrim, and how the PC is the last of the Dovahkiin, with the soul of a dragon. Hence, some dead dragon was re-born as the PC. The only notable dragon for the past several hundred years in the Elder Scrolls cannon has been the summoned Akatosh at the end of Oblivion. You may be able to see where this is going; you are Akatosh re-incarnate. Even that might not be too horribly shocking, but, seeing as Alduin is the Nordic version of Akatosh, that'd mean the PC is Aludin, the assumed main antagonist. It'd go a long way to explaining why Akatosh saves the world from Mehrunes Dagon, and then his alter-ego is supposed to "eat" it a couple centuries later.

Probably way off... but it'd make for a good twist.

So Skyrim's main quest would end in a paradox as Akatosh supposedly destroys himself?

On the other hand, being him the God of Time, i sense another Dragon Break in the making :D

in uesp it says that maybe dragons can transform shape or shapeshift (its the same thing lol anyway). So maybe they were in hiding for thousands of years waiting for oblivion crisis to end for some reason.

Here it talks about Ka Po' Tun, a tiger-dragon Akavir race and that after a battle with Tsaesci Akavir race dragons were extinct. So maybe that's where the dragons we see in Skyrim come from. But later it says that the inhabitants are cat-like people.

Also their leader Tosh Raka is the largest dragon and that he wants to envade Tamriel.

hmmm food for thought

As I've understood it, the Ka Po'Tun are not actually dragons, but they are trying to find a way to turn themselves into dragons and Tosh Raka seems to be the only one who ever succeeded, in some way at least.

Here's my guess:

You become the Emperor and/or King of Skyrim, here's why.

Who also were Dragonborns? The Septims, who were the destined rulers of Tamriel. Tiber Septim himself was called the Dragonborn, and was able to use The Voice. If you talk to one of the Blades at Cloud Ruler Temple in Oblivion, I think like Roliand or something, one of his rumors after the game ends is that without an emperor, the Blades would go into hiding until the next Dragonborn arrives. Esbern, the advisor who is helping you defeat Alduin in Skyrim is a Blade himself. May he be assisting in the prophecy of the new Dragonborn?

Just my idea :)
