12:01 AM, your time

Pete doesn't actually control Steam.

I have contacted Steam support and they said the countdown applies to all of us. The countdown, if you check, is in PST time, at midnight.

I was actually the first person to contact Pete weeks ago to get his sides of the things. I have resent a final message to Steam to clarify whether Pete is right or wrong.

Saw a thread a few days ago with someone raging hard at the fact the game would be released as 12:01AM PST, which in some areas of the world is more like 7PM on the 11th of November.

Pete has two tweets up on his Twitter right now that seem to dismiss that, or at least, throw us in to more confusion:

yes. If a store breaks date, you still have to wait to activate on Steam until 12:01 am, your time, on 11/11.

Slated for 12:01 am on 11/11, whatever time zone you're in.

..and then, from earlier...

Our plan is 12:01 am est. Dunno why the clock differs. But that is our plan still. I'll check on it.

;)

That is all OLD news - the info I have from Steam is more up to date. I actually had contacted Pete WEEKS before those comments when he told me that it unlocks at 12.01 AM your time. So I am sorry, but for now - my previous thread still applies.

That rage thread...was hilarious. For all the wrong reasons. ;D Anyone that obsessed needs to seek help haha.

My one concern is that it may not matter how much the somewhat-powerless PR Pete Hines says, Steam may "have its way" anyway... If so, I feel for my fellow Skyrimmers, because that's lame.

You really are a special kind of stupid. That is all. xx

I agree. Observing others taking Internet rage seriously is most amusing. :-)

unless they change it to est release, you'll have to wait till 3am to play skyrim. unless youre not gonna play on PC then it doesnt matter.

If you're playing on PC, then yes. The activation is required for all PC copies, so unless you play on a console you have to wait until 12:00 am EST, whatever time that may be in your region. At least, that's what the signs point to at the moment; I don't think anyone's entirely sure.
