Thanks for all the help and files and a place to share my mods....

I've been away for some months and now see that there's some forced advertising before a download for those who won't/don't/can't pay for "membership"....

Now that I see that the place I remember is gone and has been replaced with yet another site intent profits over community, all I can say is it's Lame, it really is.

Don't bother with the excuses disguised as reasons, if the site isn't supported by the community then it needs to change to meet the needs of the community and when it does

the community will support it, no need for greed. I hate greed and those that revel in it, excuse it or put up with it.

I know this post won't be up long because it says things you don't like to read, especially because it's true but there it is...

So long and thanks for all the fish....

Well, major part of the community likes the new site layout, and the advertisement is there since I joined the nexus so actually, things more or less stayed the same. That's my opinion. Edited by Werne

The Nexus family of sites has NEVER been "Community Supported", in the sense that the community provided all the financial support needed to establish, operate, and expand the sites. There have always been adverts, they've simply morphed over time, and will probably continue to morph as both the medium and the channels evolve.

There is a simple, and relatively inexpensive way to avoid these. You know... Do what you claim should be all that a site which "meet the needs of the community" should need in order to be adequately supported by it; become a Premium Member! Yet the only way you would be seeing any advertising at all is if you were not such a (financial) supporter yourself. In other words, only if you haven't personally put your money were your mouth is.

Are you actually serious? Dark0ne has said many, many times that he just about breaks even with these sites. The ads and premium membership are there so that we can continue to have this site that is provided for free to us.

Dark0ne has NOTHING to owe you. The new site layout has been radically adjusted due to community feedback, to the point where it's highly functional and in my opinion is a lot better than the old one. I get not everyone thinks that and that's entirely your opinion, but it's not your site. You live with changes you don't like.

If you're not willing to pay for membership, you have to sit through a video ad. That's kind of how things work in most places. To me, premium membership is a small price to pay, but obviously different people have different views and situations, so of course it's not my position to judge that. But if you can't/don't/won't pay for a premium account then you watch a short advert instead.

It amazes me how darn ungrateful some people can be.

Some people obviously think money grows on trees. Running a site without money is like driving a car without a steering wheel - imposible. Edited by Werne

It is obvious that you are not happy here and have no intention of being part of the community. So let me speed you on your way.

Buddah

As for removing this thread, nope it shall stay and fall farther and farther into the abyss.

I have removed your uploads, so you won't worry about them.

"I hate greed and those that revel in it, excuse it or put up with it."

I think his own words prove just how little ruserious cares about "the community". And as I have yet to see a single mod-related, fan or user site that doesn't rely on some form of advertising and/or donations (i.e. PayPal) to help make ends meet, I sincerely doubt he'll find another home for himself -OR- his mods anytime soon.

So long, indeed... and Good riddance.

I've never had a problem with the video adverts myself. I know that they help to keep the site running, so I happily sit through them :) It's the fair price to pay in order for free membership to remain possible. Edited by SilverCobra126
