Exporting to .NIF

Recommended Posts

Did you follow the install to the letter? They're not really joking about that. You also have to pass all files you made in 2013 thru Elric.exe, or they'll be useless.

Can't even get to that step because the plugin just throws errors in 2013.

Dunno what to say. Someone reported it working with 2014 by copying the shaders and all other files to that max, but didn't test. Worth posting on their website maybe.

Already have.

Managed to fix some bs myself and now I get to see if collisions will work properly. Here's hoping.

Anyway after some testing and what not I was able to get a mesh in-game.

However there seems to be an issue with the .nif to the point where you can't place it as a constructable object. It can however be placed through the CK.

I've tried copying and pasting new collision + bstrishape data over previous files just to see if I could jimmy rig it to work. Didn't work however.

Maybe someone has some insight on what to do.

I haven't read anywhere that Bethesda's plugin works with Max 2013 or older versions. I tried to get it to work with 2012, it does not.

There are other reasons besides a wobbly exporter to explain why a specific mesh doesn't work in-game, as I'm sure you're aware, so I wouldn't take anyone's experience at face value without knowing detailed information about the .nif itself, within NifSkope.
