Installing Skyrim from the DVD

Ok so I have yet to even pick up a copy of Skyrim but I am wondering do I need the interent at all for this game? Because I don't have the internet right now. I have to go to the library in town to check email and what not. Any help would be great.

I am about going crazy.

 

Ok. I had to make another steam account for one. Because they can't do a simple request for a password... without me waiting for days to hear from them yet. :\

 

So I did the steps and yay it said loading from disk and wait...why... why is it?

 

I am beyond going crazy here, i have no idea what's going on anymore.

Why is it going to take a day to install from a disk?

 

I've been running around going crazy trying to play this damn game, and I'm seriously wanting help.

 

EDIT:

 

My disc is in D and my directory is correct.

This is what I'm typing in Run:

 

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -install D:

 

It starts to install from the disc, and then stops... and begins to download.

I had the same thing.

 

Stop download, delete local content, close everything and try again. It took me about eight or nine tries before it finally worked.

 

I already had a slight dislike for Steam, I absolutely hate it with a passion now.

I have been doing this for about 2 hours now. :\

As you all can see... it's been a while... I still haven't gotten it to install..

I get it to install from the disk, but when I try to launch it, It brings up the install window on the disk, (like the FO:NV one, where instead of "Play" it's "Install")

I got this game yesterday, had to put up with some annoying Gamestop tank of a woman and sat around for at least 16 hours before I got home.

Launch it from Steam, not the DVD.

I tried launching it from steam

Does not work

It goes

"PREHPUURRRING TEW LAWNCH ARSFASFSFSDF"

And It launches an Install screen

I click Install

It tells me

"PREHPUURRRING TEW LAWNCH ARSFASFSFSDF"

Then it launches the Install screen

AAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSTTT

SSSSIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNDRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Any more help?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't say that, anyway something has gone wrong somewhere, uninstall and then reinstall following this guide https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=5357-FSQM-0382
