Wouldn't you love to see these getting advertised and everyone talks about them?.....Like the way we do with Skyrim.

Platformers were fun when I was in my teens with Donkey Kong, Ms. Pac Man, etc and I've recently dug Shadow Complex and Comic Jumper - but in my experience those are more games that are time-passers and don't engender the kind of rabid fan behavior that TES generates. I'll play them for maybe a couple hours here and there... but no where near the amount of time I'll sink into a world like Skyrim.

Think there's a new Spyro coming out, isn't there?

I was a huge fan of these games back when the PS1 came out. Loved Crash Bandicoot and especially Spyro. But, true, they are time wasters and most of them were rather short.

I'd still play the original NES/SNES Mario games over these though...nothing beats the classics

I would really like more games like Cave Story or its squid cousin, Ikachan. Otherwise I have really fond childhood memories playing Donkey Kong Country and whatnot.

I can't say I ever got into those 3D platform games you mentioned however.

Even great 2D platformers need to make a big comeback.

i remember crash bandicoot, but i never had it. bu now its on PS Classics and i have it, so maybe someday ill get around to playing it.

love the Ratchet and Clank Series. played the original, Size matters on PSP, Tools of Destruction for Ps3 and i plan on finally getting A Crack in Time sometime in the next week or so.

Spyro is also on PS Classics, but i dont plan on getting it. platformers just wont cut it anymore. with games being so expensive, there needs to be a lasting appeal. R&C can make it cause they are just so fun and dont take themselves seriously, but they also have added in a lot of RPG elements, like upgrading weapons and stuff, that really add to the games....lol any game that wants bonus points just needs to add in RPG elements. (upgrading/leveling/modding/etc) almost every game has them now.

God of War is a recent and outstanding series with platforming.

Rayman surely deserves a mention here... before it was desicrated with that stupid nintendo rabbid crap.

One of the best platformer series ever.... reduced to brushing a rabbit with downsyndromes teath.
