NaomeShade
Hello, citizens of Oblivion. I found a nice plugin of an upper armour. It doesnt fit leggings from another plugin. I modified the NIF in Blender so everything should look fine. I linked it with a cloth but my nif doesnt appear in the game. There is empty space in the place of upper body armor. What have I done wrong? Edited November 4, 2011 by NaomeShade
jamochawoke
You either didn't make a normal file for your texture or your texture path is incorrect on the model.
NaomeShade
I thought the original texture applied to the new mesh. How am I going to link them together?
jamochawoke
Open up the .nif file in nifskope and open up any NiTriShapes or NiTriStrips and look at their texturing property. It should have a block for source texture. Check the path in there and see if it is correct. If it isn't, put the correct path in there. Also make sure you have normals :)
NaomeShade
What is normals? :)All textures are on their places. I didn't create my very own NIF but just edited one. So everything should be there. Still it doesn't work. Edited November 4, 2011 by NaomeShade
Mahtawa
normals=normal map, in example you have armor.dds? you also need to have armor_n.dds
NaomeShade
Yep. _n's are where they should be. And all textures are linked to tristrips. :wallbash: Edited November 4, 2011 by NaomeShade
Mahtawa
Remove NiAlphaProperty if it exists OR create new normal map by using that nvidia normalmap tool from non-normal map texture and save it as (partnamehere)_n using dxt3 format. This fixed my little texture problems. Sorry for possible english fails. Edited November 4, 2011 by Mahtawa
NaomeShade
Does it mean I must use Adobe Photoshop with installed plugin? Am I right?
Mahtawa
Correct!..or GIMP. I don't know about gimp but messing with textures you kinda need photoshop/gimp and dds tools plugin.
