Althalus9394
Hey, I was just curious. I want to do some deep roleplaying when I finally get to play my copy of skyrim and I was just wondering if it was possible to alter my characters hairstyle after the initial creation. Think fallout style. I want to start off as the scumy, filthy, unclean and uncut prisoner who has just come off the streets and then begin to transtorm as my character gains wealth and fame into a cleancut, welldressed noble. Any thoughts? Edited November 7, 2011 by Althalus9394
RejectedCamel
There will probably be barber services in the major towns. No hard proof, of course, but if Bethesda let people change their character's appearance in Fallout 3, I don't see why they wouldn't do the same in Skyrim. Snowsong
In Morrowind and Oblivion you couldn't change your character's hairstyle, so .... My guess is that you can't change it in Skyrim. Maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised, though, and be wrong. For Oblivion I was able to find a mod that allowed me to change my guy's hair and face. mrknowie
This is a necessity; they have beards, and beards are a massive responsibility! If you let them get out of hand, you no longer wear the beard, the beard wears you. Only two kinds of people go around beardless; boys and women, and I am neither.~Greek Proverb
Althalus9394
I guess we'll all have to wait and see. I mean, its not like a change of hair would be particularly taxing on the game . Still, I really hope they have implemented it. I like having the option, even if im only going to use it with one character. It adds a level of variation to your character, who can get somewhat boring on the eye!

Lets not forget the beards! It may get rather boring remaining clean shaven for the entirety of the game, or vice versa.

zengrath
Wow. in all games I've ever played I've never really cared or thought deep enough on whether my character should shave his beard off later in his career or grow one depending on the situation. i seriously need to learn how to role-play my games more.. i feel sad.... Now i finally understand why people like barber shops in RPGs to change their hairstyle..
InuyashaFE
Yes, please, barber shops would be nice. I think the fact that I know I can't change a character's appearance afterward makes me much more anxious and hesitant to click the 'done' button. Nonetheless, I am excited about the level of roleplaying I will be doing in skyrim. Ive built up a whole backstory for my character and his descendant spanning back to the years of oblivion.
