PaladinRider
Hello, I'm looking for some created castles for an upcoming mod that are not using Oblivion content. I never did play Oblivion much, so it's hard to differentiate with models that are slightly edited from vanilla Oblivion models. I'm looking for castle keeps, walls, and structures (palisades would be nice) that are created from scratch (not editing vanilla models) so that I can use them for another game. The problem is the "new models" category contains a lot of edited vanilla content or mix-and-match castles, that I won't be able to use. If you can help, kudos, otherwise I'm going to keep searching and PMing a lot of long-gone authors Cheers
Pronam
I think it'd be better to ask elsewhere then. As it's not even for this game, which means the models might not work as they aren't working with .nif files. There are a few mods like Siika's but I wouldn't know if he partly used anything vanilla oblivion nor that he'd allow it to be used with other games. Most authors don't allow ports of their work.
PaladinRider
Well if it's not obvious, the game I'm planning for is Skyrim. I've read some strong rumours that it's still using .nifs, but even if it's not, some programs like Blender are capable of exporting it as another object. Matth85
capable of exporting it as another object. If it does not use .nifs, which I believe it will, no software can export it to the correct file at start. Not Bethesda decides to use Cryengine or UDK, which wouldn't happen. If it is an all new engine, we would need some nice coders to code us exporters.I believe Meo over at TESAlliance made a castle resource from scratch not too long ago. Might contact him about it? ub3rman123
I'd suggest waiting for Skyrim and looking at what castle tilesets are already available. They look pretty cool from what I've seen.

The nature of my mod is going to allow the player to choose a type of castle to build so I wanted to see if there are any resources so I can provide more choices. Call me overanxious
ub3rman123
Vaernlor Manor is the only architecture thing that I know is completely from scratch. It does allow porting to other games.
