Robynah
On average I agree but youll still find points in the game where it will drop below 30 on ultra with a stock i7. Sorry thats just my perspective: I find the absolute worst place in a game and base my settings on that. To the OP I looked up your processor and 2.1ghz thats slower than I thought. Makes things more debateble but feedback on the ps3 version isnt great... so I dunno. And if cash is tight you might not want to risk overclocking your only computer so I wouldnt one to advise that. JERorly
I have had issues where I go down to around 3 fps upon leaving into or entering a new area, but this was fixed when I switched my Anti Aliasing down to 4 from 8. Thanks for the tip though, gonna' keep a closer eye on that FPS meter. ;)
Robynah
lol yeah sorry if I sound argumentative. Everyone has different perspective. One persons I run game perfect on ultra is another person "game sux badly omptimized!!!1111". The reason I low ball my settings on bethesda games is because I know I'm going to mod them eventually. I like to be prepared :P
JERorly
It's fine, there's a fine line between argument and debate :P If anything a lot of issues people will be having is if they're unaware to the fact that Bethesda games only allow the use of 2gb of ram no matter how much you have. Once I allocated more than 2gb address space to my Skyrim .exe things were noticably smoother. It is, like previously mentioned, a toss up between how much you care about smooth gameplay and how much you care about pretty graphics. I'm extremely happy with 30+ FPS as I rarely notice a difference unless it shoots up to 60. But that's debatable in its own right as some people think the eye can't see above 24fps, where as it's been proven the eye can see much higher than that - at least 3 digits - around 200fps. Galacticat42
I have a worse computer than you and I'm fine running it on high settings - lowest FPS for me is 3 but that's only when there's 4+ spellcasters or 10+ attacking mobs or there's a virus scan in the background all else I have between 30fps and 60fps; here's what you do. 1. Download LAA2. Download ENBSeries Performance Patch3. Install them both4. Upon starting the launcher press Options instead of Play5. Press High6. Turn Antialiasing off7. Turn Anisotropic Filtering off8. Press Advanced9. Turn up anything that you want to the max under the Detail tab10. Make sure that FXAA is off and Shadow is medium or low - that's the biggest performance hit.11. Under the View Distance Tab you can turn anything up to the max that you want.12. Make sure that Distant Object Detail is on either medium or low - I have it on low.13. Press close, okay, and play14. Have fun! EDIT: Oh yea, and I run the resolution at the full 1280x800 Also, I have a 16' screen on my laptop and my computer rating Edited November 19, 2011 by Budz42
chrismgtis
I still have an 8800 GT OC and run the game pretty decent at 1920x1080. Though I just upgraded everything else to Phenom II 955/4GB.
