PC or PS3 - take a look at my specs.

I'm not incredibly savvy with high end gaming and usually play my games on console. However, I have always played TES on a computer because of MODs and whenever I have played it on a console (e.g: at a friends house) I've found it frustrating. My old computer could handle Oblivion fine but that was stolen... Anyway here are the specifications on my current computer - I was wondering if they would allow to play Skyrim? I don't necessarily want to be playing with top end graphics etc.. but if the performance was worse than my PS3 would do I would probably use that instead. If I have left anything out please tell me I'm just reading this off being a tech idiot so just explain to me if you need to know anything else. Cheers for your help, here goes:

Intel Core i3-2310M (2.1 GHz, 3MB L3 cache)

Intel HD Graphics 3000, up to 1760 MB Dynamic Video Memory

4GB DDR3 Memory

Its running on windows 7.

I'd say you'll be capped at low, and you won't know what kind of framerate you will get until you try it. The game will run, I have no doubt about that. Intel HD Graphics 3000 is the equivalent to a very low end mobile gpu, built into the new Sandy Bridge chips. It all depends on the game...

If you're fine with playing the game at low, and you want mods, then I say go for the PC version. Keep in mind that it might not look any better at that setting than it would on a console.

I'd say PS3. I'll be surprised if Intel's GMA 3000 will even run the game.

It can run Crysis 2 on low with a decent framerate...and many other games. I will be surprised if it rejects Skyrim on low settings on a small laptop resolution.

What? Are you sure it's an Intel card, and not a built in Radeon? Or perhaps you've got 2 cards and dxdiag recognized the Intel card? That's usually the setup with Sandy Bridge processors. Because I can guarantee you that a GMA 3000 cannot run Crysis 2. I mean, heck, a GMA 4500 can't even run Jedi Academy properly, and that came out in 2003.
