DownLikeClown
Well if it makes you feel any better, I convinced one of my friends to NOT buy COD and instead purchase Skyrim Looks like you might have done him a favour. http://www.metacriti...odern-warfare-3 Woooow.... O.o Glad I didn't buy it. Even though I'm probably going to end up with it because of my little brother, but at least it's not my money. *Long whistle* Jeez, and not to mention the whole truckload-carjacking thing that happened in (France?) AltreU
I went with my brother and a friend to the midnight release of MW3, waited in line with all sorts of strange people that acted like idiots (literally jumping around in their hoodies while shouting, "What up, brah!?" at each other), stepped out of line when we got to the door (I didn't/don't plan on using my money for it...), then went home when they came out with their copies. The next day, my brother had beaten the game. He decided to go to our friend's place to try the online. He came back and said he wants his money back. Funniest part is that he asked me if I wanted to split the cost of the game with him.http://www.thenexusforums.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/no.gif

stumpndum
Well that's nothing mate. I was talking to a similar COD emptyhead yesterday who said he hated games like ARMA and Operation Flashpoint for "being unrealistic" Now, if you've not ever played either of those, they're about as realistic as an FPS can currently get. Now, graphicaly he could have had a point but I pressed him on it, being a Flashpoint veteran, and he claimed it wasn't the graphics but the gameplay. He said it was totaly unrealistic-he especialy singled out the guns for being "cheap Russian crap" apparently blissfully unaware most countries still use 30 year old hardware-or that the AK-47 is one of the best all-rounder assault rifles ever made. Bugger me i thought i was the only one having to put up with that BS, and no this wasn't a 12 year old this was a 23 year old mate of mine, and i mean he is a friend albitet a stupid one. He was so stupid in fact that my other mate who is in the army was telling him non of those games are realistic but expessially CoD and the moron brushed it off saying that he wasn't in spec ops so didn't know what he was talking about. Anyone else got a friend you so desperattly want to shutup because their actually awesome most of the other time...

LMAO Jim, 277 bad reviews to what, 1, good review and a few mixed? OUCH! right in the credibility! I dare say there's a bit of MW3 vs BF3 fanboy nonsense going on there but that can't account for all of it. The only good thing I've seen of it is the smaller maps with the collecting dogtags thing, that looks like it might discourage camping.
AltreU
@Jim-I thought the same about the dogtag thing at first, but my brother said you pick the dogtags up by simply walking over them. So it's not as teamwork/strategy oriented as it sounds. That reminds me that I need to finish downloading AVA. You know, something to play when I decide to take a break from Skyrim (it is a good game, actually).
KMA
Here I thought Rage and Battlefield 3 were over-hyped. Ouch, a 3 hour SP is not a campaign, it is a tutorial on how to play. I would be filing for a reduction in cost due to false advertising. How in the heck did it take two game companies to make that ripoff. The funniest thing is that some of the reviewers are saying that it looks worse than Skyrim. I guess the PC version of Skyrim must have leaked too (as the trailers do not show it). COD3 is like Skyrim (in Bizzaro World).

I was thinking that it makes campers come out of hiding to collect them, camping is one of the reasons I've stopped playing shooters online, back in the day we'd kick them even if they were on our side.
