Vindekarr
Hello! Well, I am very arachniphobic, and I was wondering, is it possible for somebody/is anybody planning to change the model of all the spider-like creatures in Skyrim to something else? i.e. A bandit, troll, minotaur, etc. This would be a HUGE help to me and probably a bunch of other people, thanks! :) When I was a child I was hugely arachnobic-if there was a spider anywhere in the house I couldn't sleep and would always be looking for it. Eventualy though I got sick of that and looked my fear right in the compound eyes. In my case fear usualy arises from lack of knowledge, so what I did was research spiders, I found some very interesting things out about them. They're not only harmless but beneficial, as they are extremely effective pest control and aren't interested in you. They're also, with a few exceptions, very timid-if a Spider is near you, stomp near it, they're absolutely petrified of vibrations and will run directly away from the shaking ground. The other important things to remember are that out of more than six million species of spider, ten have venom capable of EFFECTING a human, of that ten, only 3 have ever been known to have a potentialy lethal bite, and 2 are confirmed as lethal. Two out of six million? good odds you're not going to meet one. Even more so considering nobody in the developed world has died from a spider bite since Antivenom was invented in the 1980s, even from the two truly deadly spiders, the brown recluse and funnelweb. And finaly, the bigger they are, usualy, the more timid they are. Tarantulas, specificaly the small sub-group called Giant Tarantulas, are the biggest spider in the world by mass, weighing in at as much as a tenth of a kilo, and the second biggest by leg-span. Their fangs can be as much as an inch long fully extended and they also have sharp claws on their feet and barb-quils on their backs which some species can fire like arrows. And yet despite all of that they're renown for being blustery, but shy. If confronted, a Tarantula relies on it's shear size to try and scare you away, rearing up onb it's hind legs and hissing loudly, while waving it's claw and brandishing it's fangs, and will actualy turn tail and flee if that fails-they almost never bite except when cornered, and some, such as the Red-Knee are gentle enough to handle.(with gloves on though, their claws aren't retractable, and are pretty sharp) Funfacts: the world's largest spider is the Giant Cave Huntsman, it's nearly a metre across, but of that, 91% is leg, the actual body is very small. The world's Smartest spider is the Fimbriata jumping spider, it uses tools, tactics, builds things, and has been shown to have considerable learning ability rivaling a dolphin albiet at a slightly slower rate, since the fimbriata, despite like all spiders have a proportionately large brain relative to body, is only the size of your thumbnail. You can't escape spiders regardless of where you go, Spiders have been found alive and thriving at the bottom of the ocean, and there are several species native to the summit of Mt Everest. Thepal
yeah, the same spider as was in the e3/gamescom video :) i just torched it though :Phah, hardest fight? well you ahven't faced your first dragon yet then :P Nah. I had to go to work (after sleeping for a couple of hours from around 4am) The spider was really hard for me. I was using fire and a sword, and I still had to run away a dozen times to heal. Even the boss of the dungeon was easier than the spider (a lot easier).
Rennn
I remember I was very, very scared of dying for a while (very scared, as in I lounged on the couch and didn't think anything had a point, while I simultaneously experienced mild panic attacks). Once I researched the biological processes and reasons, I stopped being scared.I still don't want to die, but now it's because of what I would never be able to do, not so much from dying itself, and it's not so much of a fear. I've at least never had another panic attack about it. Facing a spider is probably a bad idea, but reading a lot about them might help, maybe. Most fear does come from lack of knowledge. I'm no expert though, lol.

It was in Oblivion, I think it would work wonders for your Arachnid problem. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jvNdAGwnwm0
raatorotta
I don't really have phobia, but still i never liked really big spiders at all. Small spiders are ok, i usually carry them out instead of killing. But huge spider on computer game with good graphics is another thing. Spiders in oblivion creature mods were creepy and i use to remove them with esp. So i would like to see this mod too. Real-looking monsterspiders are freaky. I know what you mean, I still get freaked out from the ending of the orignal Fly. When the guy is trapped in the spider-web and is eaten by the spider that seems giant to him. qazmko38
I gotta tell you one thing about spiders, I hate them because one time when i was only 7 or 8 years old i was in the woods with my sister behind my house; and all of a sudden we've see a huge black spider appear right in front of my me and scared the s*** out of me and screamed as hell and ran away real fast because it was about to jump right in front of my face. But why couldn't they put snakes or roaches instead of stupid f***ing spiders. I mean I should of realized that this was going to be just a waste of time and money for me. Cant wait till i get deus ex human revolution tomorrow. But ill wait till their is a mod that removes spiders from this game. I mean the spiders in oblivion are nothing compared to the ones in skyrim. I'm dissapointed. And yes i am saying this for you own good for people who are against spiders like me. :)
DJFerris
I hate spiders IRL - slight phobia. Love being challenged to face them in games though. Keeps me on my toes.
Deadeye543
As a big arachnophobe I would be forever grateful to whoever finds a way to replace the spider in-game with other mobs (wolfs or bears etc.). Because i really dont want to run around all the time while being scared a big spider might be waiting around the next corner. So someone please help those of us with arachnophobia!!
