Allright, I'm going overboard, I finished installing 3ds max just now and I'm currently sketching my first ideas on the airship design hehehe.

Trying to adhere to the ayleid architectural style using white as a base, the strange metalwork paterns, arched lines, a supersized varla stone as a centerpiece. Long, sleek lines, funky metalwork propperlers and a few magic exhaust here and there... That kinda thing.

Naturaly I'm still phased as to how could that be realy used in this very particular mod of yours and how would it be involved in your storyline but.... Who cares, all that matters is that I'm making an airship :P.

Err yes, speaking of consistency, I've noticed that you're having huge issues with the main story arc past being recruited and becoming the dragon master in the end. An ayleid airship might actualy hurt it unless that's what you base the story on. I'm not saying that you can't involve it with the help of a sideline quest of sorts, but it would still fit like a fist on the eye comparing it to your city and would probably be kind of too far fetched from the main storyline.

Then again I might draft a dragon inspired airship.

Oh and a one last piece of my mind- I'm actualy glad that you gave up on volcano craters and pirates ;D. (I mean ... comeon... daedra pirates? Why not daedra ninjas? And why not specify it further, which daedra beings? Dremoras? And why not golden saints? Golden saint ninjas? How's about daedroth samurai? )

DAAAEEEEDRRRRAAAAAAA HAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! :ninja:

That would be hilarious. Either way, you have 3ds Max? Great, me too. If you can become good at modelling for the game, then you would be a wonderful addtion (either way). However, STOP RIGHT THERE! The airships are Dwemer in origin, not Ayleid. A large golden metal steam-powered craft would be much cooler, don't you agree? I am trying to make this mod as much about Ayleid-Dwemer culture as about dragons. Here's the story with the dwarven airships. If we did this, it would be an add-on to the original mod. You know, like a halfway-decent expansion pack (the equivalent of maybe one of the DLC House mods). In the Dwemer caverns below the city (already there in the stock mod), plans and a few scrap parts are found outlining a method for steam-powered flight. Unfortunately, these plans were unfinished at the time of the great Dwarven dissappearance. The add-on quest (you must have already become Dragon master for the quest to initialize) would involve you providing funds, resources, and men for creating a fleet, a floating harbor, and training captains and crew. The reason for this would be that much more supplies/food could be harvested from the surrounding mountains than on dragonback with seven riders (during times when the city cannot support itself for whatever reason, the riders would go out and bring back supplies. Otherwise, there is a farm in the Conservatory). That is how it fits. But please, make the Dwemer Airship!

EDIT: It would be freakin' awesome if you could animate the model to actually spout steam from certain pipes!

I didn't know that dwemer had colonies in cyrodiil :D.

The Dwemer (allegedly pronounced "dway-mer") were a fabled lost race of Mer whose ruins and artifacts are scattered across Tamriel, specifically within Hammerfell (mainly in the mountains of Stros M'Kai), High Rock, and Morrowind.

Then again I realy don't know where the city's located and morowind is at the eastern border of Cirodiil, a passage under the mountains could be possible.

A steam airship is steampunk romance at it's finest, however the dwemer had all of their steam from geothermal sources. It's one of the reasons they lived underground. So a question arises on how would you power such a colos? Even if you had such a source of power(maybe a greater sigil stone, possibly a gargantual soul gem(hahah, arch-mages travens soul might finaly find some use 'cept for sitting in your inventory :D)), where would you get so much water from? :D

Ok, enough nitpicking, after all I can recycle most of the old ideas.

Err, a wonderfull adition? As to the team? Neah, my attention span is too short to be an addition to just about anything. I thought it'd be pretty clear from the amount of unnecessary words that I always use :P.

The city is just over the border of Eastern Cyrodiil, above the mountains on the edge of Morrowind. It counts, and so Dwemer Ruins/Creations are possible. As for where to get the water, here's an addedum to the story.

The original plans call for massive amounts of water in a holding tank at the rear of the ship. Since the city is floating, the engineers in the guilds attempting to realize these ancient designs turn to the mages for an alternate enerdy source.

The source will be some type of magic-imbued crystal. Since this quest is being saved for later, I have no idea what it could be. Maybe for now, unless you just want to build the ships now, we should concentrate on the task at hand. Half of the guild compound is finished at present, so the city'e exterior should be finished by this weekend. Here's the lineup for the future:

1) I send the city .esm to Naminea. he builds all of the interiors I need and then sends me the .esp he made. I combine the mods and the interiors are done.

2) With input from the forums, I create the NPCs that will inhabit the city and combine it into the .esm.

3) I send the .esm to Armageddon818, who will create pathgrids and AI for all of the NPCs. Non-quest.

4) I polish up the city and release the Beta version. As soon after that as we find good scripters, we begin creating the main quest.

Sound good? I expect for the Beta version (complete except for the quest) to be done by the time we all begin school once again. After that, the quest will most likely take several months, probably a year. Don't let this daunt any of you, please! I hope that everyone will see this project through to its completion.

HOOOO HAAAAAA :woot: :woot: !!!!

I am so happy! When I started this idea a year ago, I didn't have much hope for it. But now, I think this mod could be one of the greatest quest mods ever! Up there maybe even with the Lost Spires! (But not higher of course. Well........). :P
