Skyrim complete PC crashes

LMAO @ Bethesda. This is beyond sad and pathetic now. This patch is literally breaking the game for nearly everyone, and from what I've read still doesn't fix our black screen.

Time to email Bethesda about that refund.

The worst part about it is that their customer service department doesn't respond, and they don't even acknowledge the bug in their press releases. Throw us a damn bone Bethesda, let us know you're actually working on this. A PC CRASHING BUG SHOULD BE YOUR TOP PRIORITY BECAUSE IT DAMAGES EXPENSIVE HARDWARE. A CTD error is just "oh, this software crashed, let me load it back up." A pc crash is "I just messed with a $1600 machine."

I tweeted a link to this thread to show everyone I know that it's not just me, tagging Bethesda's official blog in the post so they see it. Probably going to e-mail them a link to it as well, and start raging on them about fixing it. So irate....so irate.

So since 1.2 failed, let's play a little game. When do you think the problem will be fixed?

I'm afraid not. I had this problem a long time ago. It's the "Display driver stopped working and is recovered" problem. Look it up on Google.

I got it fixed by buying new hardware (still don't know what it was). It went all fine (ok, it crashed like 2 to 3 times in a year or something). But when I'm playing Skyrim it crashes very often.

It's crashmania all over again.

That bug got me seriously traumatised, everytime when it crashes it's like "Oh f*ck, not again!".

But I assume it's Skyrim though and not the GFX.

Let's hope they fix this bug fast.

I linked them to this topic and 5 others from their own forums about this issue in my week long email back and forth with them, they ignored it every time, or at least didn't acknowledge it in their replies.

That's funny, because I do that exact same thing!

I say that if people are having to replace hardware because of he game, a class action law suit might make them work a little faster.

Sorry to report, 1.2 has not solved the issue. We're still on square one. At the very least, we do know it's not a sound issue.

This is the first and only time Bethesda disappointed me. But I still have faith that the problem will be solved. If Bethesda won't, someone else will.

I still have a feeling it is an unstable engine problem. Perhaps it was not tested enough on PC hardware before release. I have e-mailed Bethesda and posted links to this and many other forums which cover this topic. Overall, I posted 7 links. Hopefully they'll get the message.

This is quite true. My RAID 0 array failed (error occurred 0) after a forced reboot when Skyrim crashed :/ I lost my windows install and everything else. This sort of damage is pretty unacceptable IMO. And the industry wonders why piracy is such a problem - broken software isn't worth paying for when you can get it for free.

I'm having the "no main menu" bug. I load the game, it runs through the Bethesda logo, then sits there with a dragin emblem and some fog blowing around. The process is responsive, but no menu options are available.

I don't remember Oblivion or Morrowind having this kind of trouble. It's really sad to see an outfit like Bethesda, who I never had a beef with up until now, making the same stupid mistakes that EA and 2K and even id have been guilty of repeating.

I just reinstalled the game and got the patch through Steam. I loaded my last save, saw the loading screen, and my computer rebooted again. I wonder if I will be able to play this game a day or another. Like everybody, I would really like to ear some kind of "we are working on it" from Bethesda.
